Trans Doctor Who Helps Teens Transition Says It’s Now ‘Gone Too Far’

A transgender psychologist fears many teens are making life-changing decisions about gender because it’s trendy and pushed on social media.

Erica Anderson, 71, told the Los Angeles Times she is horrified by 13-year-old kids getting hormone treatments without meeting with psychologists first.

Dr. Anderson identifies herself as a transgender woman after decades of life as a man. The psychologist began with hormone treatments and eventually had gender reassignment surgery at the age of 61.

“To flatly say there couldn’t be any social influence in formation of gender identity flies in the face of reality,” Anderson said. “Teenagers influence each other.”

Social isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic included children becoming more isolated and many leaned on social media networks, according to the Times report.

“What happens when the perfect storm — of social isolation, exponentially increased consumption of social media, the popularity of alternative identities — affects the actual development of individual kids?” asked Anderson.

Anderson’s birth name was Eric she described feeling deeply ashamed when an endocrinologist refused to prescribe hormones when she first sought them at 45. According to a report in the New York Post, the transgender psychologist began taking hormones at age 58 and declared herself “thrilled to finally become a woman” after undergoing genital surgery.

While thrilled the country’s culture is now more accepting, Anderson fears things have swung to an extreme. She reportedly claimed she had a 13-year-old patient whose pediatrician put him on testosterone even though he had not met with a psychologist.

“I think a fair number of kids are getting into it because it’s trendy,” said Anderson, whom a report in The Washington Post said was married for 30 years and fathered two children before transitioning.

“I’m often the naysayer at our meetings. I’m not sure it’s always really trans. I think in our haste to be supportive, we’re missing that element. Kids are all about being accepted by their peers. It’s trendy for professionals, too.”

 

Biden Admin and ACLU Gear Up To Defend Trans Hormone Treatment for Children

The Biden administration and liberal legal groups are gearing up to battle red state laws that prohibit children from receiving transgender hormone treatment.

Gov. Kay Ivey (R.) signed a bill into law last week that makes Alabama the third state to ban children from receiving hormone therapy and puberty blockers. The legislation, however, is already in jeopardy. The Biden Justice Department in March warned state attorneys general against enforcing hormone-treatment bans for minors, saying they run afoul of federal anti-discrimination laws. Liberal legal groups including the American Civil Liberties Union promised this week to "use the full force of the law" to challenge the Alabama legislation in court—a move that blocked a similar law in Arkansas last year.

The White House this week slammed the Alabama law, with press secretary Jen Psaki saying during a press conference that hormone therapy for minors is "lifesaving health care." Steve Marshall, the Republican attorney general of Alabama, said his state is prepared to stand up to liberal groups' legal challenges and White House opposition, which he called "predictable and of very little interest to Alabamians."

"It is undoubtedly difficult for the Biden administration, including the Department of Justice, to accept that Alabama is a sovereign state," Marshall told the Washington Free Beacon. "We're prepared to act like it."

Alabama is just the latest state to face challenges over its hormone-treatment ban for children. Arkansas last year became the first state to ban the practice, but a federal court blocked the law in response to a legal challenge from the ACLU. The group, along with other liberal organizations such as the Southern Poverty Law Center and Human Rights Campaign, has vowed to challenge a similar law passed this year in Arizona. When Texas governor Greg Abbott (R.) in February ordered state social services to investigate parents whose children receive hormone treatment, a Texas appeals court blocked the order following another ACLU legal challenge.

The legal efforts come as the Biden administration last month endorsed "gender-affirming care," including hormone therapy and sex-reassignment procedures, for transgender children, calling the treatments "crucial" for their well-being. In the statements commemorating "Transgender Day of Visibility," the White House and Department of Health and Human Services cited a study from an LGBT group funded by a hormone-drug manufacturer, the Free Beacon reported. That same day, the Justice Department wrote the letter to state attorneys general warning that laws preventing children from "seeking gender-affirming care" amount to unlawful discrimination.

The Justice Department has not announced whether it will join the liberal legal groups to challenge the Alabama or Arizona laws. The department did not respond to a request for comment.

Despite the Biden administration's endorsement, access to puberty blockers for minors is unpopular: It is supported by just 49 percent of Democrats, 24 percent of independents, and 12 percent of Republicans, according to a March YouGov poll.

There is limited research about the physical and mental effects of transgender treatment for children. Broader studies on transgender adults show alarming rates of suicide post-transition. A 30-year study in Sweden found that people who transitioned are 20 times more likely to commit suicide after 10 years. The Obama administration in 2016 said there was insufficient evidence to support transgender procedures for Medicare recipients.

"Based on a thorough review of the clinical evidence available at this time, there is not enough evidence to determine whether gender reassignment surgery improves health outcomes for Medicare beneficiaries with gender dysphoria," the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services said in 2016.

During the 2020 election, then-candidate Joe Biden said he supported children transitioning, saying there "should be zero discrimination" for an "8-year-old child or a 10-year-old child" who decides to be transgender. Once in office, Biden signed an executive order that requires federal agencies to enforce anti-discrimination laws based on "gender identity." The Justice Department later stated that Title IX "protects transgender students from discrimination on the basis of gender identity"—a move that paved the way for the Justice Department's March letter.

Legislatures in 19 states have introduced legislation to ban hormone treatment for minors, but Arizona, Alabama, and Tennessee are the only states to sign the prohibitions into law. Tennessee enacted its law last year, which bans transgender hormone treatment prior to puberty, but transgender activists claim the restriction is irrelevant because transgender minors typically receive hormone therapy after they begin puberty.

Texas Judge Halts Transgender Child Abuse Investigations

A Texas judge on Friday granted a temporary restraining order to block the state from investigating two families with children who are claimed to be transgender.

Travis County District Court Judge Jan Soifer (D) agreed with the parents of the kids that the families face immediate harm from the investigations.

Also during the hearing, the state’s attorney revealed that the state has closed the child abuse case into one of the families, the Briggles.

The Briggles were one of at least nine families under state investigation for allowing their child to receive medical treatment that affirmed the child’s preferred gender, such as puberty blockers and hormone therapy.

Back in February, Governor Greg Abbott directed the Texas Department of Family and Protective Service to investigate instances of Texas children being subjected to “abusive gender-transitioning procedures.” The directive came after Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton released a non-binding legal opinion stating that certain gender-transitioning procedures for minors constitute child abuse under Texas law.

“There is no doubt that these procedures are ‘abuse’ under Texas law, and thus must be halted,” Paxton said. “The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) has a responsibility to act accordingly. I’ll do everything I can to protect against those who take advantage of and harm young Texans.”

The Briggles, along with two other families, had sued to block the child abuse investigations the state opened against them. That lawsuit was filed Wednesday in Travis County. They are the only family not filing under a pseudonym. The other families are going by the names ‘Roe’ and ‘Voe’ in the lawsuit.

All three families have children they allowed to transition from female to male-appearing.

In the lawsuit, the Voes said their child attempted suicide, consuming a bottle of aspirin, the day the governor’s order came down. The Voes later sought help from a psychiatric hospital for their child, they said.

“Giving hormones or pubertal blockers can constitute child abuse,” Assistant Attorney General Courtney Corbello said during Friday’s hearing.

“Is that true when the treatment is considered standard protocol and supported by every major medical organization in the United States?” the judge retorted.

 

Gov. DeSantis Considers Sending Child Protective Services Against People Exposing Children to Drag Shows

DeSantis was asked about proposed legislation about children at drag shows during a media briefing on Wednesday.

“We have child protective statutes on the books. We have laws against child endangerment,” said DeSantis, who added that his staff was looking at the law.

He went on to reference “disturbing” videos from a drag show performance at a bar in Dallas, Texas, that showed children shoving dollar bills into the underwear of drag performers.

“Part of the reason why we fought the fight with Parents Rights in Education is because there’s a movement to interject these things like gender ideology in elementary schools even, and my view is, our school need to be teaching these kids to read and write and add and subtract, and do the things that are supposed to be done in school,” DeSantis continued.
“Injecting these agendas into it is wrong, and that’s why we did the Parent’s Rights and Education bill,” he added.

Videos and images from the drag show event in Dallas outraged many on social media. Others on the left defended the incident and accused critics of bigotry and prejudice against alternate lifestyles.

But as for the original question, I have noticed that a lot of straight young guys are dressing up as girls on Youtube. And I'm all for it. They are just doing it for a bit of fun, they aren't gay and they don't demand others consider them girls. And I hope more do it just for fun.

One problem with a lot of the current SJW tran's people is that they have demands that they want the whole of general society and all trans people to follow. People like me, who believe in reality of the natural world, are forced to remain silent. If I ever say a male/female is determined by genitalia, I'll be kicked out of 99% of all social groups.

The politicization of sex trans is a shock to the system.
And schools need to go back to the basics of teaching Maths, English. What is taught should be limited to child cognitive sciences.
Keep religion, transgenderism, politics out of public schools.
But, because the West allows for a lot of liberties and freedoms, private schools are free to teach what ever extra curricular activities they want.

What we do when we become legal adults is legally up to us.
