So I need six posts before I can publish a story now. When did that rule come in?

Not posted on this thread before. But hello authors.

I wrote a story ten years ago and uploaded it to sexstories.
I had initially written it for a special someone, so it was written "I walk into the room and you are standing there, naked" (not an extract, but an example - I do not know what tense it is (first person, present?)
Anyhow, as it was written this way it was tricky to read unless you were the woman in question.
So, I did an edit. It now reads "He walked into the room and she was stood there, naked" (third person, past tense?)

I also added some new chapters and have plans for more.

My question is:

Is it now better if I upload each chapter to the forum on a thread, before 'going live' on sexstories?
It has gone through a few edits over the years but I think I have found all the errors.....

(Reminded of a recent story where the author changed a character name but missed some updates - my story was originally for Janet, but I changed it to Anne )

Hello @Knight5648 Welcome.
I don't post to stories to the forum first any longer. I like having all of my stories in one or two places. But as NCfan said, a different editor really makes the mistakes 'pop.' I use Word first. There is another site I was using that let's me edit after publishing, but, you can used the notepad, or whatever, to get a different insight. Some use a friend for mutual typo checking.
And, I know what you mean about missing updates. My first story to the site, 5 or 6 years ago, I decided to change a name prior to pub;ishing. Didn't change it everywhere. I was accused of plagiarism! Some thought I was modifying someone else's story to 'hide' its source.

 

Howdy all, I'm after some advice...

I've just dreamt up a scenario, which I was considering turning into a story.

The concept: a 40yo married woman - soccer mom with an idyllic suburban life, on the PTA, etc etc - receives a message on facebook from her former Master, threatening to send devastatingly explicit pics of her to everyone she knows unless she spends 1 day with him. The background is that from 18-23 she was his heavily pierced, branded sex slave, who - whilst she had enjoyed serving him initially, ended up 'escaping' with the help of a guy her own age, who is now her husband. Of course the "1 day" only results in him having more blackmail material, forcing her to take her husband to see Master, who is none to pleased with the man who stole his slave away all those years ago... queue more explicit scenes...

I'm just concerned it may trigger people who have experienced domestic violence..? Am I being overly concerned about something appearing on a sex site?

 

I say go for it, so long as its tagged appropriately I don't think anyone has any right to get triggered. They don't need to click on something that's got tags they don't enjoy

 

Thanks for the feedback. That was my first thought - doesn't help that one of my other stories, featuring a werewolf-type couple, got a lot of negativity despite being well tagged, with comments that they weren't expecting it. People are strange, I guess.

 

I enjoy writing stories and enjoy reading them

 

Thought Police often down vote out of a strange sense of morality. "My perversions are fine, yours are not."
Any gay/sissy story I post averages at least 10 points below my others. I'm the same person that wrote both, so...
I assume most vote down genre. Perhaps some vote down because they want me to stick with what they like. Or, I'm offending the LGBT community somehow. Maybe a little of each?

Good morning fellow writers. I posted a story on the sexstories side and then when it was finally up for viewing, I noticed I forgot some punctuation and edited it. Now it no longer accessible. When you do a search for it, the site says "does not exist." I am thinking that perhaps it has to go back through screening before being posted again, but I don't know that because they don't put a lot of info on that side. Has anyone else experienced this?

 

This falls under the category of - You never can tell.

What I really wanted to write was the multi-part time travel story that ended up being A Stitch in Time. And I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I realized it might have a more limited audience, being labeled Science Fiction and being more of a story with place, names, etc. But I wanted to write it.

While working out in my head how to start that one, figuring out how my time travel rules would work and looking up a few facts and names I filled my time writing "At Your Service". That one I'd let sit, then add some more, then now worry about it. And look, there it is, already my third most read story and one of my highest rated. People love it. At least in comparison to my other stories.

I think of that one, similar to "Heat Wave" as my sex romps. A setting, some characters and plenty of sex. Then there are the ones I consider my story, um, stories. "Small Town Life", "House on Montague Street", "Mickey and Kat" that rely on time and place and tell more of a story. Those are my favorites.

Maybe the mods are on a late summer break. I haven't received a reply to an PM either. I imagine it will pick back up Monday

Getting concerned now. We're moving into our second week of no stories being updated to sexstories.com. No problem if there's a reason, but some notice would have been nice.

 

It's going to be a bummer of the sexstories.com site is dying. I have several more stories to post and really don't want to start over somewhere else. I wish we could get something, even a post explaining if it's a temporary situation.

Of course I have no idea how may people run this place and what their situation is. Hope all is well.

 

I am with you regarding the concern and I also have no idea how many people it even takes to run something like this, but it must take several. But if they don't have enough that could spell trouble for us writers and our readers, so perhaps it is time to start looking for alternative sites for stories. Are you familiar with any NCfan?

It will all be ok. It's just a couple of weeks. It's not the end of the world... lol
