It is tough. I probably spent too much time on the background and plot and not enough on the actual sexual activity. I'm working on my first one to post here and will look for feedback. I've got a couple of stories, but because the plot deals with an area I think could be used in a more family friendly environment, I don't want to put them up here.

So I'm getting ready to submit my first story, however I have noticed over the years that sometimes stories come out in a weird format.

Ie - double spaced, weird wall of text. etc

Is this a writing issue, or is there a template we need to use in order to ensure it comes out nice an clean and easy to read?

Sitting here tapping my fingers waiting for the next idea. Now that I've caught up and posted the backlog of stories from when the site was down, I've kind of hit a dry patch. Started a couple of stories but dumped them.

 

I'm a confused newbie. Wanting to post some stories here that are too rough for Lush, my usual home.

Why are there some stories posted here in this forum and some on sexstories.com?

And what exactly are the rules about what sort of stories are allowed? Non-con is allowed, right? What about animals?

 

Check the category list on the sexstories site. There is a category for bestiality.

Keep the players over 18. Don't even mention non-participants that are underage.

Your choice to post in forum or on the site. (Or both.) If you post in the forum your story may get more feedback in the short term, but once off the first page it pretty much enters eternal oblivion. If view-count is important to you, post to the site. It takes a few days to be vetted and published.

 

I posted a set of stories originally with titles that made it confusing to track which one was next (I hope that it's the reason for them being a failure anyway). The set is in the 70% ratings for most of them and I hope that it's because they were read out of order. Should I delete them and re-add?

I find that I'm much more excited at the prospect that people are enjoying them than I ever thought I would.

 

I've deleted stories in the past and, in the process of preparing them for reload, taken the opportunity to make considerable edits.

Re-reading yours might give you ideas how to improve them. (I dig the theme!)
I find that too much story and not enough 'business' will get you lower scores. But also there's always drop-off for multi-chapter stories. If a casual reader sees chapter 3 (for example) on the front page but hasn't read 1 & 2 they either may not bother with it, or not enjoy it as much as a stand-alone tale.

 

Yeah, I can see that. I enjoy the long stories. I'm the weirdo that likes plot in my porn. How did the dude end finding a chick to bang in a house that's obviously staged for a house showing?

Would it be possible to make this is own sub forum inside of sex stories? It might be easier to ask questions or talk about the actual writing of stories like that.

Like I wanted to tell y'all that I'm excited, one of the stories that I published 4 months ago just reached 10k reads while the one that I published 3 days ago just hit 22k. I don't want to put a break in all of the amazing stories being posted below though.

 

I get that. It would be nice to have an entire space though to bitch, moan, complain, and be excited in the actual mechanics of stories that doesn't get in the way of the below awesome stories actually being told.

 

I must be honest and say I don't know what constitutes a good story nowadays because the stuff I've been reading is iffy at best. Yes, anything incest related is a stimulus package but as far as a good story with good writing and grammar there is a lot of mediocrity.

 

There is a glitch now when you check an author's profile you are unable to see their latest stories posted. Hope this gets rectified soon.

 

Yes and there are a lot of trolls who denigrate good writing so that their mediocre efforts get better ratings.

 

there are so many ppl on here with a short attention span and a lack of appreciation for quality writing. this includes quality story build up before you get down to business. Probably the males that last about a minute or two before they fall asleep and you have to finish yourself with your fingers.

 

When you post a story you have to choose a genre. What's the difference between fiction and fantasy? Isn't most fiction just a fantasy?
