How well do longer stories fare on XNXX? I'm talking between say, thirty and eighty-thousand words. My longest story, which I wrote for another site was 77,000 + words. The positive feedback was from people who said they liked or loved the story and it was well worth reading through. The negative comments were from readers condemning it for the length alone and refused to read it.

I know we can't write for everyone and make them all happy, but I was just curious if really long tales did poorly here.

 

I cannot answer this questions as I normally post shorter stories on here. Can any one else in here answer this?

I feel a good story will do well, regardless of length. Just realize people are looking for jerk-off material, not War and Peace. I suggest breaking a large story into smaller chapters, say 10,000 words or so. Make sure you have spacing between paragraphs. Good luck!

 

The site name tells the tale. For the most part, this isn't erotica, it's sex. Now think about what you do with the non-sex parts of videos. Long, drawn-out stories where the down and dirty isn't 75% of the tale won't fare as well here as they might on literotica or lush. And if you decide to break your story into chapters, make sure there's some action in each one or you will get crucified.

Much like a lot of other websites and culture in general, this website goes through shifts. When the stories section kicked off around the 2008ish area, the site was basically only a place where short quick-burst stories could thrive, with people like fbailey and blueheatt quickly gaining notoriety. I joined around 2014 when the website was semmingly obsessed with longer-form stories; stories that had at least 5 chapters and the chapters themselves were often around the 10k word length. Nowadays the website resembles its 2008 period more, with some obvious changes. Tastes change and evolve, and sometimes stories will influence that evolution. Maybe your stories could do that too! Only way to know for sure is to post them.

 

I have a tendency to write 1st person when it's a true story but I naturally go into 3rd person when writing fantasies.
Is that much of an issue or should I also try to write 1st person fantasy stories?
And I'm open to PMs of any comments on my current stories or possible requests someone has for future stories.
Also open to writing custom stories if anyone is interested.

Site rules are there for a reason. Do you aim to have this site closed permanently? The rule is no story involving minors Any story with child(ren) under 18 is not allowed. Stop thinking about yourself and consider all the people here who would be punished by you ignoring this rule. That's what is known as selfishness.

 

This comment is both mean-spirited and categorically incorrect. Firstly, it is a website's job to moderate its own content and enforce its own rules. The site is required to uphold a level of moderation, but the posting of user-generated content doesn't violate that rule in of itself, hence why Twitter and Facebook are never held responsible for anything illegal their users post. If lawmakers make a "no littering rule" and people litter, do we punish the litterers or the lawmakers? If the website is taken down, it won't be because people posted prohibited things, but because the website didn't enforce its own required rules enough.

I think Paige is in the right to question what's allowed. I think it would be good if this website made clear its stance on that rule. It doesn't. Stories featuring minors (usually 14-17) do end up getting posted from time to time, no doubt with others getting refused. It's inconsistent. The rules of this website say no pedophilia (rule 5 under terms and conditions), but not no inclusion of minors at all. It literally says nothing about an age limit. You saying "The rule is no story involving minors Any story with child(ren) under 18 is not allowed" seems to be you making things up. And it's fine to presume, but presuming a rule exists while condescendingly talking down to someone about it who wanted clarification while not even knowing how user-generated content rules on the internet works... Well, it makes you comes across a certain way.

I thought I might introduce myself here in addition to the main intro thread in general, since I'm mainly here to write some stories.

A long time ago I dabbled with writing a story or two, which are still up on this site. I never kept up with it, however. Over time I found other forms of naughty entertainment to keep me going, one of which was erotic roleplay.

The reason I loved ERP so much is because it's interactive as well as creative writing. I would RP off an on over the years but lately I have simply fallen out of love with it. The stories would never quite go in the direction I'd want, my RP partner would not give the same commitment and effort that I would, or they would simply leave. I began to wonder what I could do to get my naughty words out there.

I had a FWB for a time who liked it when I told her some of my dirty stories. She enjoyed reading a bit of smut and encouraged me to send her some of the things I wrote, which she liked quite a bit. Remembering this, I began to wonder if I should drop the roleplay altogether and write those stories myself - especially considering how many ideas I had that had never been expanded upon.

Remembering this site, I fluked it and got my old login details correct, and so here I am! It will probably be a little while before I post anything but I'm really excited and looking forward to it!

A few things I am wondering:

- Is this the best thread to ask writing advice in? Or are we encouraged to open a thread asking for help?
- I've seen people comment on the differences between posting a story on the forums or the sex stories website, but is there anything stopping us from posting the same story on both?
- Further to that, is posting your same stories here in addition to other sites frowned upon, or is it ok?

I look forward to chatting with you all, and eventually posting some stories which I hope you'll enjoy!

 

I write these stories to titillate myself first, and hope that I do the same with readers. I write what I think are a variety of themes, from men offering their wives, to women who fuck dogs. What I don't understand is why there are not more readers who will leave comments? This is an important element in my writing. I want to know what the reader thinks.
