Another top Trump official busted using private email server for government business

On Saturday, The Washington Post reported Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is escalating a wide-ranging investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails.

The administration is conducting no such investigation into senior administration officials using private emails for public business.

The latest to be caught in the Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross.

“The House Oversight Committee is investigating Ross on multiple fronts. Committee Chairman Elijah E. Cummings (D-Md.) sent a letter to Ross on Sept. 9 that scolded him for stonewalling an inquiry into his potential conflicts of interest,” The Washington Post reported Monday. “So perhaps it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Ross has used private email to conduct government business.”

“From a nongovernment account, Ross has sent or received official correspondence about discussions with the European Commission for Trade, a U.S. ambassador’s meeting with German car manufacturers, a dinner featuring the ambassador of Japan, what appears to be an event related to billionaire businessman Bill Koch, and meeting requests from the far-right Internet troll Charles Johnson,” the newspaper continued. “The nonprofit watchdog Democracy Forward recently obtained the emails through a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit and is asking the government for a direct search of Ross’s personal email.”

Charisma Troiano, the press secretary for Democracy Forward, said it was a crime.

“Some of these emails indicate that Secretary Ross illegally conducted government business on his private account,” Troiano said.

Ross defended conducting official business on a private email system.

“These hysterical, baseless allegations of illegal activity are without merit,” Ross argued.

Other administration officials who have been caught include Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner.

House Dems Probe Trump Hotels ‘Ghost Bookings’ by Foreign Governments, Groups

House Democrats are reportedly looking into allegations that groups, including at least one foreign government, have booked blocks of Trump Hotel rooms with no intention of using them. Politico reports the hotel probe is part of a broader investigation by the House Oversight Committee into whether the president is breaking the law by accepting money from the U.S. or foreign governments through his properties. House investigators are looking into the allegations that powerful groups tried to please the president by booking rooms at his hotels, but never staying in them. “Now we’re looking at near raw bribery,” Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-VA) said, according to Politico. “That was the risk from day one—*foreign governments and others trying to seek favor because we know Trump pays attention to this.... It’s an obvious attempt to curry favor with him.”

Hosting the G-7 at Doral is still worth a million dollars to Trump — even if he donates all the profits: reporter

President Donald Trump’s chief of staff Mick Mulvaney said that holding the G7 summit at Trump’s Doral resort would not be a profit for the president. Reports about it fly in the face of the White House claims, however.

The Miami Herald reported in July, when Trump floated the idea, that Doral is in a financial rut and the G7 meeting could help Trump climb out of it.

“Hosting foreign dignitaries has been a financial boon for Trump’s private Palm Beach Mar-a-Lago Club, providing some insight into what financial gains might be expected from hosting the G7 Summit at Trump Doral,” said The Herald.

Taxpayer dollars would be spent on the rooms, event spaces, food, staff, and more, all of which will include a profit for Trump.

As one Politico reporter noted, even if Trump agrees to donate all of the profits from the G-7, he will enjoy millions in free advertising for the property at the time he needs it most.

“Hosting the G7 Summit — consisting of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States — at any of his properties would exacerbate claims that Trump is profiting from the presidency in violation of the so-called Emoluments Clause of the U.S. Constitution. Trump is already facing lawsuits over similar allegations, primarily about his hotel in Washington, D.C.” reported The Herald.

Trump is already dealing with lawsuits for profiting off of his properties. World leaders have intentionally stayed at Trump properties as a means of scoring the president’s favorability. At his property in Scotland, Trump managed to reroute military travel from stopping at American bases in Europe to refuel and instead stop at his Trump Turnberry resort. It’s ultimately cost taxpayers millions more in fuel costs at the small airport instead of lower-cost options at military bases.

Trump’s ‘Doral is severely under-performing’ — losing 70% of profits in just 2 years: WaPo reporter

Washington Post reporter David Fahrenthold has followed the shocking ways in which President Donald Trump has used the office of the presidency to score profits for the Trump Organization. When speaking to MSNBC Thursday, Fahrenthold said that it’s hard to believe the claim that no place in the United States is as nice as Trump’s resort.

In a press briefing, chief of staff Mick Mulvaney said that they managed to isolate 12 possible locations for the G7, then cut the list down to four, of which Trump Doral Miami was one.

Mulvaney then took it further, saying that Doral was doing exceptionally well as a property for Trump. It prompted host Katy Tur to ask if Doral is doing that well for the president’s pockets.

“No. We’ve been looking at internal documents from the Trump Organization that say that Doral is, in their words, severely underperforming,” said Fahrenthold. “The net operating income, basically, the profit that that resort produces fell 70 percent between 2015 and 2017. Just two years. And so they’re going to be putting people and money and occupancy into it — not only into a hotel that’s doing poorly, but in the worst time of year. June is usually the second-worst month. Only 38 percent of its rooms are generally occupied. Because who wants to be in Miami in June on vacation, now they’re going to fill the hotel with people and money during that period.”

In the past, the G7 has been hosted in Houston, Texas, at an island off the coast of Georgia and Camp David.

“We’ve held it other places,” Fahrenthold continued. “Yes, if you looked at my basement and the YMCA down the street and the Doral, you might decide that the Doral was the best option. Until you know what other places they looked at, it’s hard to say how Doral compares. But it’s certainly that this is not the only place in America where you could have held an event like this.”

GOP lawmakers openly revolting against Trump’s ‘indefensible’ decision to hold G7 at his golf resort

Already reeling from criticism from within his own party for withdrawing U.S. troops in Syria setting off the slaughter of Kurds by invaders from Turkey, Donald Trump is now being openly condemned by GOP lawmakers over his decision to hold next year’s G7 conference at one of his golf resorts.

According to a report from the Washington Post, Republicans are openly complaining that the president’s decision is putting them on the spot when asked to defend the president’s blatant play to personally profit from the annual get-together.

Noting that they spoke with over 20 GOP lawmakers about the G7 decision, the Post reports, “A growing number of congressional Republicans expressed exasperation Friday over what they view as President Trump’s indefensible behavior, a sign that the president’s stranglehold on his party is starting to weaken as Congress hurtles toward a historic impeachment vote.”

“Many said they were repulsed by Trump’s decision to host an international summit at his own resort and incensed by acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney’s admission — later withdrawn — that U.S. aid to Ukraine was withheld for political reasons. Others expressed anger over the president’s abandonment of Kurdish allies in Syria,” the report continues.

According to Rep. Francis Rooney (R-FL), the president’s latest actions are making him consider impeachment.

“I’m still thinking about it, you know?” Rooney told reporters. “I’ve been real mindful of the fact that during Watergate, all the people I knew said, ‘Oh, they’re just abusing Nixon, and it’s a witch hunt.’ Turns out it wasn’t a witch hunt. It was really bad.”

Another claimed he would not back the president’s decision.

“You have to go out and try to defend him. Well, I don’t know if I can do that!” stated Rep. Mike Simpson (R-ID). “I have no doubt that Doral is a really good place — I’ve been there, I know. But it is politically insensitive. They should have known what the kickback is going to be on this, that politically he’s doing it for his own benefit.”

Another senior GOP lawmaker, who wished to remain anonymous, chimed in that the president is continually forcing Republicans to “defend the indefensible.”

Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-SC) attempted to straddle the fence by being critical while minimizing how problematic it was, saying, “I think the optics aren’t good . . . but we have a lot more problems to worry about.”

Avid Trump defender Rep. Tom Reed (R-NY) also was dismayed about how Trump’s self-dealing looked.

“I would encourage those at the White House to look at the optics and appearance of this,” he explained. “Even the appearance of impropriety is something we need to take into consideration. I have concerns about this.”

Outgoing Rep. Paul Mitchell (R-MI), who has already been critical of the Trump and has claimed to have to defend the president led him to decide to not run for re-election, suggested the president handed the Democrats another weapon in the impeachment battle.

“I’m not sure the wisdom of that” Doral decision, he remarked, adding, “It just further fans the flames that the Democrats have been ranting about.”

House Democrats demand probe into ‘suspicious’ stock trades surrounding economy-shifting statements by Trump

“Multiple large trades, resulting in billions in profit, occurred shortly before geopolitical events or statements by the president of the United States that moved the markets significantly.”

Two House Democrats on Friday urged federal agencies to investigate possible insider trading by President Donald Trump or members of his administration after a Vanity Fair story detailed several immensely profitable stock market bets that appeared suspiciously timed around Trump’s actions or statements.

“Timing and scale [of the stock bets] raise serious suspicions about whether the traders received material nonpublic information that would affect the S&P and how they received such information.”

Reps. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) and Kathleen Rice (D-N.Y.), in letters to the FBI, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, requested a probe into “potentially unlawful behavior related to the trading of electronically traded futures contracts on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange in the last several months.”

“On October 16, Vanity Fair reported on numerous instances in which individuals or groups of individuals made millions, and in some cases billions, of dollars in profits by trading large numbers of Standard & Poor’s 500 (S&P) e-mini futures contracts immediately prior to major geopolitical events,” Lieu and Rice wrote.

“The trades preceded such events as the Saudi Aramco attack as well as announcements related to progress in talks between the United States and China over the trade war and the withdrawal of the extradition bill in Hong Kong,” wrote the Democrats. “In one case occurring in August, the trader or traders made $1.5 billion when the S&P rose after President Trump lied about phone calls taking place between United States and Chinese officials.”

“While the aforementioned trades may be purely coincidental,” added Lieu and Rice, “their timing and scale raise serious suspicions about whether the traders received material nonpublic information that would affect the S&P and how they received such information.”

“We urge you to swiftly investigate whether trading on insider information or any other fraudulent behavior occurred in relation to these trades,” the lawmakers wrote.

Vanity Fair highlighted a number of profitable trades since the beginning of the Trump presidency that have been met with a “mixture of shock and awe” among traders.

According to Vanity Fair:

In the last 10 minutes of trading at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange on Friday, September 13, someone got very lucky. That’s when he or she, or a group of people, sold short 120,000 “S&P e-minis”—electronically traded futures contracts linked to the Standard & Poor’s 500 stock index—when the index was trading around 3010. The time was 3:50 pm in New York; it was nearing midnight in Tehran. A few hours later, drones attacked a large swath of Saudi Arabia’s oil infrastructure, choking off production in the country and sending oil prices soaring. By the time the CME next opened, for pretrading on Sunday night, the S&P index had fallen 30 points, giving that very fortunate trader, or traders, a quick $180 million profit.

It was not an isolated occurrence. Three days earlier, in the last 10 minutes of trading, someone bought 82,000 S&P e-minis when the index was trading at 2969. That was nearly 4 a.m. on September 11 in Beijing, where a few hours later, the Chinese government announced that it would lift tariffs on a range of American-made products. As has been the typical reaction in the U.S. stock markets as the trade war with China chugs on without any perceptible logic, when the news about a potential resolution of it seems positive, stock markets go up, and when the news about the trade war appears negative, they go down.

The news was viewed positively. The S&P index moved swiftly on September 11 to 2996, up nearly 30 points. That same day, President Donald Trump said he would postpone tariffs on some Chinese goods, and the S&P index moved to 3016, or up 47 points since the fortunate person bought the 82,000 e-minis just before the market closed on September 10.

One anonymous trader told Vanity Fair he has no doubt these cases involve some sort of wrongdoing.

“There is definite hanky-panky going on, to the world’s financial markets’ detriment,” he said. “This is abysmal.”

‘Oh, c’mon’: WaPo columnist goes scorched earth on Trump kids for complaining about Hunter Biden cashing in

Appearing on “AM Joy,” with fill-in host Ayman Mohyeldin, Washington Post columnist Dana Milbank rolled his eyes and laughed off complaints from the children of Donald Trump who have been criticizing former Vice President Joe Biden’s son is cashing in on his famous name.

Responding to a clip of Eric Trump complaining about Hunter Biden landing jobs he may not have been qualified for because of who his father is, Milbank brought up all three Trump kids — Eric, Don Jr. and Ivanka — of their own sins while their father is in the Oval Office.

“It is breathtaking,” the smirking Milbank said after watch the Eric Trump clip. “They used to say of George Bush that he was born on third and thought he hit a triple. That would give too much credit to these Trump boys. I think they were born on third base and think they scored a touchdown. They don’t have any awareness at all.”

Stating he wasn’t going to defend the Bidens, he continued, “I mean, the amazing thing is this is coming in the same week when Trump attempted to have the G7 at Doral before pulling it back. I mean, you know, talk about a quid pro quo. this entire presidency has been about, you know, a quid pro cash flow.”

Turning back to the Trump kids, he continued, “I mean, we’ve seen this over and over again. It’s sort of a projection, remember ‘no puppet, you’re the puppet’? Whatever President Trump or for that matter his sons are accused of, it becomes that which they accuse the opponent of.”

“Think of Ivanka Trump getting her trademarks in China at the same time the president is negotiating with the Chinese,” he elaborated. “Think of the Saudis. Think of Attorney General Bill Barr paying tens of thousands of dollars to the Trump Hotel in Washington for his Christmas party. Think of all the lobbyists putting in money there; this is all going to the bottom line and to the profits that are enjoyed by Don Jr., Eric and the president himself.”

Well, first, you assume facts not in evidence, mainly that any crime at all has occurred.
And second, you ignore the fact that it is now illegal for an elected official to use insider information to profit from the stock market. There is no penalty, and it's impossible to track to even determine if a crime occurred, but we do have a law; it's called the "Pelosi bill" and while it did have teeth when it was passed, it was quietly gutted shortly after passage, you know, so the robbers could keep on robbing.

It has been obvious for some time now that Trump manipulates the stock market with this tweets. And the most glaring example is when Trump crashed the stock market just before the G7 when he started tweeting he was slapping more tariffs on China and ordering all US companies to get out of China. Which sent the markets plunging. Then when Trump was at the G7 stock futures were down more than 300 points when Trump starts tweeting China was on the phone and were agreeing to make concessions. Which was in the wee hours of the morning at the G7 but hours before the markets opened over here. And sure enough stock futures reversed and by the time the markets opened over here they were back in the black. And then of course it was revealed it was all a lie. So its obvious Trump and his administration are manipulating the markets with his tweets. And wise investors play that both ways. Sell when Trump crashes them and buy when he reverses.

But what this is looking at is if there some well connected investors that are getting tipped off to what Trump is going to do before he does it. Which would make sense if some people in the administration know what Trump is going to do and tipping their buddies off before it happens.

In the meantime however, Trump isn't much into stocks so he and his kids are just cashing in on him being president.

Trump Organization boasts about India towers just days after Eric Trump says family doesn’t do international business

The Trump Organization undermined Eric Trump’s lie about the president’s family ending its international business dealings.

President Donald Trump’s second son falsely claimed last week to Fox News host Laura Ingraham that he and his siblings “got out of all international business” after their father took office.

“The difference between us and Hunter (Biden) is, when my father became commander in chief of this country, we got out of all international business,” Eric Trump said.

However, the Trump Organization run by Eric Trump and his older brother Donald Trump Jr. sent out a tweet Monday morning promoting the Trump Towers in Pune, India.

The property isn’t owned or developed by the Trump Organization, which didn’t invest any money in the project but instead rents out the president’s family name in a licensing deal.

The Wall Street Journal has published an exposé about the Trump 2020 re-election campaign and how the president is “banking on base-pleasing campaign events – more meticulously produced this time – to outweigh any need for a fresh message.”

In one disturbing tale WSJ White House reporter Michael Bender relays how Trump has apparently grown frustrated with White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney – his third in under three years – and attacked him during a meeting with other aides present.

President Trump wanted to bring his Cabinet to a June rally in the critical swing state of Florida. Appropriately, Mulvaney warned the president about the Hatch Act, which prohibits executive branch employees from using their positions for political activities.

“I’m in charge of the Hatch Act,” Trump “barked” at Mulvaney, calling his chief of staff, one of the most powerful people in the nation, “weak.”

Trump is not “in charge” of the Hatch Act. It is an 80-year old federal law that was amended in 2012.

Special Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway’s violations of the law have been so egregious that the U.S. Office of Special Counsel requested the White House “remove” her from her job. President Trump refused.

I feel that Donald is justified in his efforts , no matter what the cost, to have the Joe Biden or any of the sneaky democrats investigated for their scandalous actions and undermining if that it what it takes. They stop at nothing and at every expense humanly possible to dig up dirt so turn about is fair play. And if the republicans spent every waking day of every week of every month of each year digging like the democrats I'm sure they would find plenty. And hell if Hillary isn't a sneaky underhanded self serving man hater then I don't know who is. She is fucking Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden and his son, and Bill is holding the flashlight or a flesh light. I'm sure of it.. I think.
