House Speaker Pelosi flip flops stance on coronavirus stimulus package

Senators on both sides of the aisle are working together on a new coronavirus stimulus package, which looks to come with a price tag of $908 billion. This is a little bit more than the $500 billion package offered by Senate Republicans and far less than Nancy Pelosi’s previous bottom line of $2.2 trillion.

This comes after months of gridlock on Capitol Hill over a relief package to help Americans amid the ongoing pandemic. However, many are taking aim at House Speaker Pelosi for playing politics. Back in October, she said she would not accept a bill below $2.2 trillion and criticized President Trump’s $1.8 trillion proposal.

“Well I will not let the wrong be the enemy of the right…you know what, do you have any idea what the difference is between the spending that they have in their bill and that we have in our bill?” asked the top Democrat.

Many believe Pelosi and other Democrat leaders did not want to pass the bill prior to the election as it would have been another win for President Trump. Since then, the House speaker has changed course and is now willing to back a smaller package, which is nearly $1 trillion less than President Trump’s October proposal.

She added that the current proposal "has simplicity, it's what we had in our bills, it's for a shorter period of time, but that's O.K. now because we have a new president."

Group of incoming GOP members demand Speaker Pelosi open investigation into voting irregularities

More than two dozen GOP representatives-elect ....( I bet that really stings the ears of the leftists) are demanding House Speaker Nancy Pelosi launch an investigation into the 2020 election voting irregularities.

In a letter to the Speaker on Tuesday, the 26 incoming lawmakers said the election process has devolved into chaos.

    View attachment

They cited reports of missing or unverified signatures on absentee ballots, restrictions on elections observers and missing voting machine memory cards.

The group said their constituents are deeply concerned about the integrity of the election and are demanding the irregularities be seriously investigated.

In urging Pelosi to put politics aside, the group said protecting the integrity of our elections is not a partisan issue. They emphasized lawmakers on both sides of the aisle should agree that this is a paramount issue.

This came as many GOP lawmakers on Capitol Hill continue to firmly support the president’s assertion that the election was rigged in favor of his Democrat opponent.

Meanwhile, Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.) and other House lawmakers still plan to try to challenge election results during a joint session of Congress on January 6.

Nah...a few of those 'billionaires' would rather put their money towards leftist corruption efforts.

Although there is or will be a hospital named after the meth head Zuckerburg ...and some folks are not happy about that one.

where will Trump people go after January 20th? and all of the make believe is over...surely there will be no run for this guy in 2024, that's a given. I'm sure Cruz is spending time talking to his mirror, panting with anticipation, hoping for a Donnie endorsement, but hell if Biden beat Donnie boy by 7 Mil, whew! what will happen with a really viable, likeable candidate for the Democrats?
In 34 days, the Trump people will be left wondering around in the woods, with no home and no leader.

Voter Poll: Speaker Nancy Pelosi needs to go

    OAN Newsroom
    UPDATED 2:16 PM PT – Tuesday, December 22, 2020

According to a poll published on Tuesday, 56 percent of voters think House Speaker Nancy Pelosi should be replaced by someone else in the next round of Congress. Her overall image rating traced that sentiment with only 27 percent of independent voters viewing her favorably.

Pelosi has come under fire in recent months for holding up stimulus talks to push a so-called Democrat wish list instead.

Pelosi has reportedly suggested this will be her final term. The future speaker will be decided when the new Congress convenes to vote on January 3.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is on a hell of a roll today. She got 2/3rds of the House to approve the $2000 stimulus checks. And then got 2/3rds of the House to override Trump's veto of the defense bill.

Pelosi may strip all gender references from House of Representatives rules

Proposed changes to the rules of the House of Representatives would “honor all gender identities” by eliminating such specific terms as mother and father, son and daughter, and aunt and uncle.

Instead, only gender-neutral terms such as “parent,” “child,” “sibling” and “parent’s sibling” would be allowed in the text of the House rules, according to the proposed changes.

The proposed changes — which also include the establishment of a House “Office of Diversity and Inclusion” — will be voted on after the House convenes Sunday for the new 117th Congress.

Another rules change would prevent Republicans from amending a bill at the last minute, the Washington Examiner reported.

Instead, such proposed changes would send the bill back to committee, effectively killing it, the Examiner noted.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said that’s needed so that last minute bill changes — known as Motions to Recommit — are “no longer used to hijack the legislative process for political gamesmanship.”

The new rules will make the House “the most inclusive in history,” Pelosi said in announcing the proposed changes.

But the gender-neutralizing move — a nod to the transgender and non-binary community — was widely mocked on social media.

“As you can see, Congress really has their finger on the pulse of America,” the conservative Daily Caller snarked on Twitter.

“This some sort of plan to generate confusion via obfuscation?” @tweeting_chance responded to the tweet. “Don’t we have enough of that already in our legislation?”

Other changes would remove floor privileges from former House members convicted of crimes related to their House service or election and would make it a violation of the Code of Official Conduct for a house member or employee to disclose the identity of a whistleblower.

House members and their employees would also be banned from disseminating “manipulated media,” including “deepfakes.”

House Dems propose new rules for upcoming year in Congress

    OAN Newsroom
    UPDATED 12:30 PM PT – Saturday, January 2, 2021

Congressional Democrats are rolling out a set of new rule proposals for the incoming 117th Congress.

On Friday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Rules Committee Chairman James McGovern released a slew of proposed regulations addressing ethical concerns in Congress.

Part of the new governance would mandate the elimination of gendered terms, such as “he” and “she.” These would be replaced with gender-neutral terms like “they.”

The proposed rules would also include the revocation of privileges for House members convicted of a crime as well as a penalty for identifying whistleblowers.

Additionally, House members would be barred from knowingly sharing “deep-fake” or manipulated images. However, many Republicans–including House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy–have voiced opposition to the rules proposal.

McCarthy called the proposed measure “stupid” and accused the House Speaker of trying to solidify her party’s power in addition to attempting to stifle the stance of House minorities.

The legislation is slated to be voted on shortly after the new Congress is sworn in on Sunday.

Report: Pelosi allowed recently COVID-positive rep. onto House floor to vote for her

    OAN Newsroom
    UPDATED 7:08 AM PT – Monday, January 4, 2021

Nancy Pelosi has shown yet another example of her hypocrisy regarding COVID-19 lockdown orders.

Under quarantine for coronavirus, Americans are not allowed to travel, visit friends, family or even go to work in some cases. If you’re a Democrat in Congress, however, it’s your “congressional duty” to break quarantine, enter the chamber and re-elect radical Democrat Nancy Pelosi as House Speaker.

According to a report Sunday, that’s the example the California Democrat set for Americans amid her narrow re-election to the leading role in the lower chamber of Congress. The report noted that in an effort to win a tough battle for re-election and compensate for seats lost by Democrats, Pelosi encouraged a handful of coronavirus-positive Democrats to break their quarantine in order to vote for her.

For example, Democrat Wisconsin Rep. Gwen Moore entered the chamber to vote for Pelosi despite announcing she had tested positive for coronavirus. Meanwhile, Pelosi appeared to amplify coronavirus concerns as she was sworn in as House Speaker on Sunday.

“A responsibility as daunting and demanding as any previous generation of leadership has ever faced,” she stated. “We begin this new term of Congress in a time of extraordinary difficulty.”

Despite turning a blind eye to Democrats breaking their quarantines, Pelosi had previously criticized President Trump for what she described as not taking the virus seriously.

“Well, I think we should be concerned because of the virus and its viciousness, but also because of the denial that the President is in,” she once claimed.

This comes after Pelosi faced backlash for violating her own lockdown policies in San Francisco, specifically when she had been caught getting her hair done at a salon after she had cited coronavirus-related concerns and ordered them to close.

    upload_2021-1-4_20-6-55.png

In a public address in which Pelosi addressed the controversy, a reporter asked if she felt she should apologize to San Francisco hair salons for holding held them to a standard that she did not appear to follow. The House Speaker asserted that it was the salon that should apologize “for setting her up.”

Further, Pelosi was criticized for not wearing a mask at the hair salon despite requiring other San Francisco residents to wear them under similar circumstances. In this situation, her response appeared much different from previous comments she had made toward the President about mask-related concerns.

“I just had my hair washed, I don’t wear a mask when I’m washing my hair,” she explained.

As Pelosi’s constituency in San Francisco approaches its one-year anniversary of living under some of the strictest lockdown orders in the country, it appears those standards do not apply in cases where her growing political power is jeopardized.

Slim Majority of Democratic Voters Favor Keeping Pelosi as Speaker Ahead of January House Vote
33% of the party’s voters say the caucus should find someone else to lead them

House Democrats’ underperformance in the 2020 elections leaves Speaker Nancy Pelosi with little breathing room for the chamber’s January vote to decide whether she retains the gavel in the 117th Congress. New Morning Consult/Politico polling shows a slim majority of Democratic voters believe that the longtime California lawmaker should remain in charge.

Fifty-three percent of Democrats in the Dec. 18-20 survey said House Democrats should keep Pelosi as speaker, while a third said the caucus should choose someone else. Among all voters, 56 percent said Democrats should find a new leader.

Most nonpartisan elections analysts projected that House Democrats would add at least a handful of seats to their column during the 2020 elections. Instead, the GOP ate into their ranks, picking up at least 10 seats. As a result, Pelosi will not be able to afford many defections for January’s vote if she hopes to maintain her grip on the chamber.

Speaker Pelosi’s new House rules package silences the voice of Republican minority

    OAN Newsroom
    UPDATED 10:47 AM PT – Tuesday, January 5, 2021

As newly re-elected House Speaker Nancy Pelosi looks forward to the Democrats slim chances of retaining the House again in 2022, she’s using her most powerful weapon as speaker. The move comes with majority influence over the House Rules Committee to weaken the power of Republicans who make up the chamber’s minority.

On Monday, Democrat House Rules Committee chairman Jim McGovern and Speaker Pelosi watched as the House passed the new rules package for the 117th Congress. The bill passed in a 217-to-206 vote and has taken heavy criticism from Republican lawmakers, who have gone so as far as to call provisions in the bill “Soviet style.”

Two of the most criticized aspects of the package include alterations to the MTR or Motion to Recommit, which is a tool minority parties can use to push last minute changes to bills on the House floor before passage.

    upload_2021-1-5_15-53-16.png

Republicans will now have to send bills back to committees before passage, which will greatly limit Republican lawmakers abilities to advance the interests of their constituents on specific bills. It’s something that was highlighted by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy on the House floor Monday.

“You cannot pass a motion to recommit on the floor unless you have a majority of the people in the body to vote for it,” he stated. “Are you so afraid that you can’t hold people that you oughta’ take it away? ”

Another rule change is new exemptions from PAYGO, or Pay As You Go, provisions. The rule previously kept lawmakers from spending more than the budget allowed by requiring spending cuts in other parts of the overall budget.

However, the new rules offer an exception for PAYGO, but only for programs related to public health and climate change. This is specifically consequential as Democrat proposals like Medicare for All and the Green New Deal come with very large price tags.

Republicans have said it’s a clear indication Democrats are trying to push through the Green New Deal and Medicare for all regardless of the cost.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy also took aim at Speaker Pelosi by stating the new rules package is an assault on open debate in the chambers of Congress, one in which he will not forget.

“I will promise you this, two years from today when you are no longer in the majority, we will correct the course of history,” he stated. “Because we are not afraid of debate, we are not afraid of ideas, we believe it makes us stronger.”
    ___________---------------------______________

Lets see how the gutless GOP enjoys having no official voice in the House...and from I heard earlier, the gutless GOP in the Senate might just be getting a taste of being irrelevant as well.

Shooter is kind of hoping the despicables do take the senate and have all the power.

First, Shooter thinks Biden will be the president with the shortest term if despicables hold the power. Kamala and the DNC won't want to waste any time implementing their radical agenda.

We all know, after all, that there are some things even a corrupt politician won't do, but lawyers have no moral limits. And, theres always the chance Joes dementia will cause him to blurt out some embarrassing tidbit.

Second, America will put up with very little radical leftist bullshit. As long as deplorables keep pointing out every abuse of power, every corrupt act, every hypocrisy, come 2022 the despicables can count on being bounced out on their collective asses.

And that will set the stage nicely for Candace Owens in 2024.

I don’t think you’ll ever see Republicans holding any office anymore shooter ... I took your word for it justice would prevail . Much to my dismay you were wrong . And most of all so was I . I should’ve stuck to my gut feeling evil prevails . And is awarded . Our children really need history taught in school once again . They must’ve stopped teaching history right after I got out of school . What has happened this year should have never happened .

Oh, "justice prevails" is dependent on your definition of "justice".
That deplorables have lost the white house and narrowly lost the Senate is, on it's face, evil.
After all, we all know that Kamala Harris will be President before 2024 and she has a most radical agenda, she and the DNC.

Shooter thinks, no matter. Not in the long run.
Oh, we'll have gender neutral legislation, and special rights for special people, and a debt that will keep right on ballooning, and the closest thing one can get to open borders, but all that will be temporary.
There are only so many votes the despicables can buy.
      Then, Justice will prevail.

The deplorables can take both houses in 2022, and that will be easier the crazier Kamala and the DNC get.
And that sets the stage for Candace Owens in 2024.
