Sexual preference is not a religious issue, not an equal protection issue, not a Federal issue.

Look. Sexual preference is nobody's business but the consenting adults involved. It is for damn sure not any government's business.
Deciding which restroom to use has not been an issue for Transgenders before, making it an issue now is just creating a solution that has no problem.

Trump was elected by the wide swath of ............. oh you know the term .................in part on getting rid of special rights for groups that don't need them.

Plenty of laws on the books protecting Transgenders from the vacuum heads who think violence or hate is the correct response to someone different than them.

 

One of the oddities of this whole bathroom business is that the actual physical facilities are often ignored.

I use unisex bathrooms all the time. Restaurants and coffee shops typically provide them. A row of bathrooms, each door having male/female symbols. Each room has one urinal and a lock on the door. No problem!!!!

I don't know about Europe, but here in the US, sporting facilities typically have giant restrooms. The mens' rooms in stadiums may have a row of many urinals. The older stadiums simply have a long porcelain commode-style trough down the length of one wall. Men, adolescents, and boys have to use it. They typically do not look down, but the younger patrons are already going to be feeling embarrassment/anxiety using the thing.

For women it is not quite so stressful for young people: large womens' rooms typically have many stalls with doors. But women and girls of all ages do have to stand in line, and younger patrons are anxious and ultra-conscious of the people in the line, and who can see them, and the ability to see and be seen through the cracks in the doors.

We are basically animals being herded into large pens. For older people it is not such a big deal, but for young patrons it is stressful.

Now, why in such a situation should girls and adolescent women be subjected to the added stress of the presence of men in that line? Or vice-versa?

And in high schools it is even worse. In most high schools, the kids all shower together in a common area. And the Obama administration specifically imposed upon public schools the "recommendation" (on pain of loss of financing for non-compliance) that boys be allowed to shower with girls, if they feel deep inside that they are girls, and vice-versa.

Ridiculous, in my opinion, and I am sure I am not alone.

Unisex bathrooms? Great. when there is one urinal and a door. All for it. But it is ludicrous to mix the sexes into a pen. Absolutely insane.

 

Here's the thing.
A transgender individual has known for years what restroom to use.
Others generally aren't going to know whether the transgender is "sex appropriate" or not; it isn't like they're whipping out their sexual parts for public display. They're just in there to do their business. They may get sideways glances because a woman looks a bit "manly" or a man looks a bit "womanly" but very few people are going to confront in a restroom, or think it is even particularly necessary.

Shooter has been to sporting events where women rush into the mens knowing stalls will be open and they are simply not going to wait through the womens line.
People for the most part chuckle and continue.

The issue of school locker rooms is a bit different; A burly football player trying to use the women's shower would get attention. Of course, a burly football player stripping down and exposing breasts would likely garner attention. But, really, it doesn't happen often enough to require a major public discussion; either the athlete finds ways to hide their "condition", confronts the coaches and players and (hopefully) works out a deal, or simply doesn't play high school sports.
In any case, the world will continue to turn, the sun will shine and birds will sing.
Government can't fix everything. Especially this.
And one must yet again ask; why do the fringe feel entitled to special rights?

The trouble is that something has changed.

Heck, when we were kids, transvestites mingled with us all the time. Men dressed as women, I mean. It was no big deal. They came in, and it was no big thing. Confused/sick person. We rolled with it.

The problem now is that the rules have been relaxed to the point where the dude who comes in is justified in doing so, just because he feels like he's a girl. He doesn't even have to be dressed like a girl. Never mind having a "sex change operation" (which I quote since in fact there is no such thing, and "sex change operations" are really just grotesque cosmetic surgery).

Young people are confused enough. That is where it is concerning. Especially in schools.

What about the locker room dressing rooms and showers and the fact that Obama and other radicals tried to force young girls to have to undress and shower with young boys with penises who think (or at least claim) that they're really girls?!

 

Yup, what I just said. And I agree with Shooter that when I was a girl cross-dressers and other sick people mingled with us all the time in restrooms, but it was no big deal. It's only a big deal now because they are trying to validate and normalize the sickness of such people by forcing it down the throats of public schools.

 

I'd like to know "Where in the Constitution" does it say anything about using restrooms.
