Flake's speech burning Trump gets standing ovation from some Republicans.

    Washington (CNN)
Republican Sen. Jeff Flake of Arizona, who has sparred frequently with President Donald Trump, will not run for re-election, he said Tuesday in a blistering floor speech bemoaning the changing tenor of politics in the United States.

"If I have been critical, it's not because I relish criticizing the behavior of the President of the United States," Flake said. "If I have been critical, it is because I believe that it is my obligation to do so, as a matter of duty and conscience."
He continued, "The notion that one should stay silent as the norms and values that keep America strong are undermined and as the alliances and agreements that ensure the stability of the entire world are routinely threatened by the level of thought that goes into 140 characters -- the notion that one should say and do nothing in the face of such mercurial behavior is ahistoric and, I believe, profoundly misguided."
His decision means Flake joins retiring Tennessee Sen. Bob Corker as an outspoken critic of Trump with nothing to lose in the year before 2018's midterm elections.

The White House suggested it was time for Flake to retire.

Jeff Flake's full speech announcing he won't run for re-election

The White House suggested it was time for Flake to retire.
"Based on the lack of support he has from the people of Arizona, it's probably a good move," press secretary Sarah Sanders said during the daily press briefing.

And it turns Arizona -- once a Republican stronghold but increasingly competitive in recent elections -- into perhaps the most important state in the 2018 midterms, with Flake's seat now open and questions looming about Sen. John McCain's long-term prognosis as he is treated for brain cancer.

McCain and Corker were both in attendance of Flake's Senate floor speech Tuesday and gave him a standing ovation at conclusion of his remarks -- as did Wyoming Republican Sen. John Barrasso.

Who cares what the White House suggests anymore, since it's become a proven fact, that most of what is coming out of the White House is permeated with lies.
What sane people are concerned about, is that Republican politicians are jumping from a sinking ship, and the reasons why.

    1. RandyKnight
they are jumping before Bannon throws them off it-----

A better question would be, when wasn't Obama telling lies?

Besides the biggest lie ever told to the American public by a sitting president “If you like your health care plan, you’ll be able to keep your health care plan, period."

Here are just a few examples for you Anon...

Let’s take a stroll down Obama’s liar lane and see what we find:

    – “We will close the detention camp in Guantanamo Bay.” Still open.

    – “If we have not gotten our troops out [of Iraq] by the time I am president, it is the first thing I will do.” Didn’t happen.

    – “Today I’m pledging to cut the deficit in half by the end of my first term in office.” Instead, the national debt increased $5 trillion on his watch.

    – “As soon as we’re out of this recession, we’ve got to get serious about starting to live within our means.” Huh?

    – “We agree on reforms that will reduce the costs of health care. Families will save on their premiums.”

    – “We’ve got shovel-ready projects all across the country.” Later, Obama admitted his own lie, saying, “There’s no such thing as shovel-ready projects.”

    – “We reject the use of national security … to spy on citizens who are not suspected of a crime.”

    – We “will ensure that federal contracts over $25,000 are competitively bid.”

    – We “will eliminate all income taxation of seniors making less than $50,000 per year.”

    – “We are going to work with you to lower your [health care] premiums by $2,500,” and we’ll “do it by the end of my first term as president.”

    – “I don’t take a dime of their [lobbyists’] money, and when I am president, they won’t find a job in my White House.” In fact, Obama granted waivers at will, and more than a dozen lobbyists got jobs in the Obama administration.

    – “I pledge to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution.” But Obama has ignored the constitutional amendment granting powers not enumerated in the Constitution to the states.

    – “If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.”

“The sequester is not something that I’ve proposed. It is something that Congress has proposed.” The truth is that the White House proposed an “automatic sequester” on July 12, 2011.

    – “I didn’t set a red line [in Syria].” And yet, at a prior news conference, using unscripted language in a statement, he said, “a red line for us is we start seeing a whole bunch of chemical weapons moving around.”

    – “It’s here that companies like Solyndra are leading the way toward a brighter and more prosperous future.” After Obama’s administration gave the company $535 million, Solyndra and its solar panels went belly up.

To Israel, “We have not only made sure that they [Iran] have to stop adding additional centrifuges, we’ve also said that they’ve got to roll back their 20 percent advanced enrichment … down to zero.” In fact, the deal allows Iran uranium enrichment of 5 percent.

    – “Eighty percent of Americans support including higher taxes as part of the [debt ceiling] deal.” However, that same week, a poll by Rasmussen showed only 34 percent supported a tax hike as part of the deal.

    – In 2006: “America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better. I, therefore, intend to oppose the effort to increase America’s debt limit.” But as president, Obama has led the charge each year to increase America’s debt.

    – And, let’s not forget PolitiFact’s 2013 Lie Of The Year: “If you like your health care plan, you’ll be able to keep your health care plan, period. No one will take it away, no matter what. … You can keep your family doctor.”

The Presidency is the highest position of leadership in the US. Trump has told so many lies that no one can trust his word on anything. If we are faced with an international crisis needing us to come together, support the President's decisions and follow his leadership, Trump will have to remove himself or be removed. It will be impossible for him to lead us in time of war or a similar crisis since we cannot believe anything that comes out of his mouth.

Senator Jeff Flake has been a member of Congress since 2003. In 2004 his net worth was about $200,000. As of late 2015 his net worth was estimated to be over $500,000. While the Senator has very much improved his personal net worth while in Congress, the questions the revolution would have for him would be unlikely to form the basis for his defeat.

The revolution has far more serious questions for Senator McCain.

    Told "A" lie? Really?
    I doubt there's a human being that hasn't told "A" lie.
The difference is, Trump lies to the people he's supposed to be serving, weekly, if not on an almost daily basis!
He works for the people he's supposed to be serving, not the other way around.
Such a flagrant disregard, and state of disrespect to the people of America, as well as the world, is a betrayal of the office he holds.

Don't be so quick to invite someone to the revolution who does not think the president, which ever one they choose, does not serve all of the people.
Who was Obama talking to when he said if we liked our insurance and our doctor we would be able to keep them?
Who was Nixon talking to when said, I am not a crook?
Who was Clinton talking to when he said, I did not have sex with that woman?
