  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

Easy for you to say. You live across the pond. We in America are at the mercy of the stupid bastard.

As Power123 and others have pointed out, the United States has no strategic interests in Ukraine. It is not in our sphere. Most Americans couldn't find the Black Sea on a map. Yet Obama had to shoot off his mouth. Not once, but twice. The fool can't complete a sentence without a teleprompter, yet he looks in a mirror and thinks he's the President of the World.

The trouble for us is that we lose all credibility (or what little we still have), because we have a superpower-class military under the yoke of a gutless commander in chief who doesn't have the stones to use it.

So now the Ukraine does matter. Because if we do not act, everyone-- and I mean everyone-- walks all over us for the foreseeable future. (For the next two years, and possibly for much longer.)

    I suppose if I lived in the UK I'd shrug and say, Good. :) But I don't. So I can't. :(

Putin knows the next few years are his golden opportunity to expand the influence and satellite territories of Russia.

This applies not only for the remainder of Pres Obama's term in office, but the next President as well, as our military force will have been hung out to rot for so long of a time as to be degraded to a second-rate status for a generation or more.

This move against the Ukraine has probably been planned for some time by Putin and colleges, even if only as a 'if this occurs...' style.

Europe will not move militarily against Russia as from what I understand portions of it receive much of their natural gas from Russia, and to be honest, the United States is neither economically, militarily, or even politically (due to the current admin) in condition to do anything.

Pres Obama and admin have been out foxed, out played, and out maneuvered completely by Putin.

Personally, I think its long past time we pull our armed forces back home save from absolutely critical portions of the world that are of American interest, and we focus on our own problems.

Yes, Obama has had five years to shut them down, and refused to do so, as he has refused to bring the troops home from Afghanistan.

Pres Obama is one of the most weak willed socialist-oriented Presidents to be inflicted upon the American people.

Clarise there is a second danger too many people are not discussing, or keeping alert about: brinksmanship such as Obama is conducting may lead to an unexpected chain of events which actually escalate the matters to full-scale conflict.

People need to remember, there are three main viewpoints in this crisis that matter: the United States, the Ukraine, and Russia.

Any miscalculation in intentions and perceptions, by any of them, and we can see the start of a regional or even global war.

Obama has already destroyed the USA's credibility in the world. He didn't stand up to Syria when he said he would. He has never stood up to North Korea and never will. Iran plays him like a cheap fiddle.

Obama is clueless. All he will do now is backtrack on the red line statements and claim he was talking about "diplomatic consequences".

Then he will send loser ass John Kerry over there to save face.

Update based on recent news release on US radio:

Russian Parliament has apparently asked PM Putin to withdraw the Russian ambassador to the United States at once.

IF, and again, IF, this is true, then events have escalated to the brink of armed conflict.

    Update from Yahoo news: Here

Russia, China and Iran have played Pres Obama like a cheap fiddle.

As for how Obama will continue to handle this crisis, I think he or someone in the admin will panic, and push the matter to open conflict by pressing for military intervention.

Forgot to add: and blame Pres Bush, Conservatives, Tea Party, and everyone else he routinely gripes about at every news conference save for himself.

Let the Ukrainians handle their own affairs would be my view. I don't care if Obama has to backtrack, I don't want us involved. I have been saying all along we need to close foreign bases and stay out of other countries business.

On this I have to completely agree.

Let the world handle its own problems, and save our military forces for the defense and for a instrument of viable deterrence against our nations opposition.

The Ukraine is another flashpoint which can escalate into a wildfire at the least provocation.

Troop levels now days mean little. Wars are beginning to be fought by machines.
We don't need that many soldiers. We don't need bases in other countries. We have planes, ships, and submarines that can be in any place in the world in a short time.
There is no reason for a single soldier to set foot on foreign soil.

Depends on what the objective is. If the objective is a pointless gesture, you're right. If the point is to make Russia cease its occupation of eastern Ukraine, one must occupy it in Russia's place. Occupation is accomplishded by people. Not robots.

That said, I don't care who occupies Ukraine. I certainly don't want it. And nor should our Glorious Leader.

    Donkey wears Blinkers again.
Crimea and Eastern 'Ukraine' is almost 'Western-Russia'.
they want no part of the overthrow of the democratic government.

    [IMG][IMG]
Infact there is no almost with the Crimea.

    So a two state solution:
Western Ukraine basket case and the New Russian autonomous zones?

Rixer, I've just come in from a 13 mile run. For the most part I enjoyed the day, but somewhere in the middle of it I mulled over this Ukraine thing. And now I have to say I agree with you. +1.

Obama is already a laughing stock on the world stage. Backtracking on this one and eating crow won't put him a single bit lower than he already is. So that is what he should do. Go yellow, disavow the whole thing, and let Russia take Ukraine.

The U.S. rep is destroyed, but this gives us a way to get out of this mess intact, lick our wounds, and possibly regroup later.

    Two state solution?

Russia has literally taken Crimea in an afternoon without a shot fired.

Let's see a show of hands: who thinks Russia is mobilizing a quarter million troops to parlay for a two state solution?

    :excited:
