  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

    StanleyOG.

    NUMBER 134:

"TAKING TIGER MOUNTAIN (BY STRATEGY)---ENO (1974)

When Brian Eno left Roxy Music in mid-1973 after two albums, Bryan Ferry & Roxy were left to become even more "New Romantic" and Eno exercised his avant-garde nature, as evidenced on "Taking Tiger Mountain", a set of absolutely wonderful, kooky tunes.

Beginning with 'Burning Airlines Give You So Much More', Eno stretches the fabric of rock without breaking it, manages to be experimental yet melodic, and, somehow smoothly mechanical like an engine that can purr and roar when called on, shifting gears perfectly.

'Back In Judy's Jungle' is a marionette's waltz with Apocalypse Now lyrics; 'The Fat Lady of Limbourg' is a delightful waddle up a steep cobblestone street, laden with heavy sacks of cheese (this may be a weird description, but if you've ever heard TFLOL, you might know what I mean----I love this cut).

'Mother Whale Eyeless' is an excellent merry-go-round ride, complete with calliope; 'The Great Pretender' (no relation to The Platters) is a frigid walk through the backalleys of Moscow.....and a grinding masterpiece (including the cycling background whine).

'Third Uncle' (later covered by Bauhaus) is an exhilarating luge ride and 'Put A Straw Under Baby' is a bizarre lullaby that softly weaves and rocks.

'The True Wheel' (co-written with Phil Manzanera) is good, but it is my least favorite on the record; 'China My China' is frenetically good and the title track is softly and smoothly relaxing.

Superior effort by a superior talent.

    "EMERALD"---THIN LIZZY (1976)

It's hard to tell if this is about The Battle of the Boyne, but it could be with "border", "outward towards the sea" and "bridge" references. In any case, this is an f'n great cut....

The 60s! Ah! What did the world do to deserve what is called music nowadays? I had this on a two track reel-to-reel recorder when it came out and it was then that I discovered that if I inverted the tape and twisted it I could listen to it in reverse through the back of the tape. The other one which worked just as well was "Hurdy Gurdy Man" by Donovan. They were the two songs which introduced me to the possibility of breaking out of the rules of standard recording.

Why did Roy Wood feel the need to transform what was one of the best bands of the time into ELO (though 10538 Overture was a masterpiece it was intended to be a song by The Move)? His rapid disaffection with the latter and the creation of Wizzard was soon to prove that he got it all wrong. Listen to the band and you will discover what could have been the replacement for the Beatles. They were that brilliant.
