• Van driver reportedly made off on foot after mooing down dozens of tourists.
• Shop owners in Las Ramblas were advised to stay indoors as police officers stormed the city centre.
• Two gunmen have taken over a Turkish restaurant – police confirm that no hostages have been taken.
• Two people have been arrested and one is being hunted - two others have been killed in a police shootout

Kiwi witness , working in the area , a very popular tourist area ,
describes the street as having vehicle access down the side , with the street being
"completely pedestrianised " ,
with thousands of people all over.

Said police were very quick , and cleared people off the streets into shops and anywhere for shelter .

 

Regarding what happened in Barcelona and ISIS's claim, I just want to say that the blame for this belongs on both sides. There are some very good people both in Spain and in ISIS, and there are a few Spanish and those in ISIS that are very bad. So the blame should be applied to both of them.
