Reading "Servant of the Bones" by Anne Rice.

Jews, Babylonians, Genies and being boiled alive in Molten Gold. Good Read.

 

From back when Anne Rice wrote things worth reading? I love some of her books, and other ones make me want to punch small animals.

Right now I'm reading Canterbury Tales still (of course!) and Emilia Galotti, which I'm enjoying a lot. In terms of not-fun school readings, we've got a book on terrorism, a book on educational psychology, and a book on making Shakespeare "fun" for students by forcing them to go to the front of the room and awkwardly perform language they are unfamiliar with, without much prior preparation. If I had to do any of the activities suggested in this book when I was in high school, I probably would have ended up crying out of embarrassment. Granted, I was the most insecure person on the planet, but even so, these ideas are just horrifying.

 

Bourne Supremacy - Robert Ludlum

I really have to finish this book. I've started it three times now. I love Ludlum but something always seems to come along to distract me from this particular book.

 

Currently rereading "King Lear" for a class... For fun I'm reading Joe Haldeman's "Forever Peace," Joseph Conrad's "Under Western Eyes," and Italo Calvino's "If On a Winter's Night a Traveler..." I always seem to be reading at least three books at once.

Might explain why there is a divided Korea and how America might be to blame.
Explains why America is not well like in some SE Asia countries or our word is not what we say it is.

I just recently finished up the harry potter book, the deathly hallows...not sure what to pick up although i've been waiting for the new book to come out after brisingr. I saw the house of night series books in the store, but not sure if they would be good or not, anyone read them?

 

You might try the Last Apprentice series. At least as good as Harry Potter.
