police officers are for the most part good people, smcaaphd is right, she makes the only sense on this page, i certainly don't, i get violent when i drink.

It may seem that way, but in some cities cops must protect themselves from the public. May be social profiling, but there's too many killings. Keep in mind that most cops on the beat are high-school graduates and they don't take lightly to a BMW with 24" wheels and a driver with his cap-to-the-side.

 

TV these days is all about getting "sauced". I recently had to explain the term to my little one.

 

The Irish cops in Henderson NV will not investigate a hit & run against a lady of Italian descent. The Irish cops know the Irish lady that did it.

The perpetrator who caused severe injury gave a false name address and phone number, but the vehicle has been identified positively.

So what's new? I expected it. I told her to go to the DMV.

 

Well if you watch the documentry called 'GANGLAND'...Im sure most here would rather have that badge out there protecting them. I have complete
respect for the police and would do anything to help them. The old saying goes, give respect and you'll get it.

I personally have had no issues with cops, no tickets, no bad situations, no preconcieved notions , etc..so in my opinion they are fine and dont bother me.

Most people speak on behalf of all cops when they give the stereotype of them being "pigs" or crooked an so on. I wish people wouldnt do that because not all cops or people in general should be catagorized with others due to one situation.

i guess people just like to judge. that's something that will never change.

 

Officers do a great thing and many are stand up men/women. That being said, it also tends to attract a certain personality (much like the TSA) and it ends up that the entire profession takes the heat for having a bunch of power hungry morons in their ranks. This, compounded by the tendency to back each other up when they get in trouble/do something wrong/etc. makes people distrust the police.


There are plenty of good cops, but when you have the few bad ones and the good ones don't help weed out the bad... it doesn't look good.

most cops are fucking assholes douche bags on a power trip that hide behind a badge. there are some out there that actually want to help people out in times of need but those are few and far between thses days. my neighbors and i were constantly harassed by a cop who flew the ghetto bird. he would circle our houses, like 15 feet above the roof of the house, flashing his gay ass lights and blasting his little siren, at least twice a day. went on for a while too...a couple of months. this pices of shit lived on the next street and thought that he could stop us form having a good time on the fourth of july one year. came walking up to the porch with his three dogs and his badge saying some shit that we were going to go to jail if we did not break the party up stating that we were keeping his new borne from sleeping. i stood up and walked right up to him and told to fuck off, you are off duty so go be off duty. thats what started the whole thing, and for as long as he lived in my neighborhood i would drive by his house a couple times a day and smoke the tires right in front of his house. most of the time i would do it when him, his skank ass wife, and that bastard of a child were outside. i would just look at him and smile. bitch ass mother fucker. fuck cops. fuck their badges. and fuck their guns.....mine is bigger.

they are all a bunch a drunks too. i know a spot were they all go to "tie one on". even when on duty you will see them sitting at the bar drinking so they can attack the ones they are here to serve and protect.

Sounds like someone has a very large chip on his shoulder, or is just posting for a reaction. Most police officer are decent hard working guys doing a job that is difficult to begin with and made more difficult by people who stereo type them.
When a crime occurs in certain areas people look the other way or just plain out lie to the police, then whinge that they don't do anything.
What you going to do when your house gets burgled or your car stolen, oh yeah I know what you're going to say, I dare you to find out who robbed you and I dare you to recover your goods; can't do it, don't have the resources, pity you hate all coppers or they might help you.
Not all coppers are bastards, just like not all people who post on here aren't idiots.

Cops don't make the laws, they just enforce them. If you don't like the laws use your vote to change them.

I think that the term "Law Encforcement" says it all, really. It is a form of oppression, instigated by a self-proclaimed right to steer people into doing what others would like them to do.

This being said; it is of course an extreme view on certain things, and I as a consequence must add --judging by people's behaviour-- that law enforcement is a necessary evil.

I could go on and state the obvious: that everywhere, in whatever layer or section of society, you'll find 'good guys 'n' dolls' and 'bad guys 'n' dolls', but I'd like to take smcaaphd as the example that shows that there's indeed well behaved, humane, intelligent and witty people in whatever force around the world...
