As for your question, yes there is some truth to the IDEA of a fight but skidmark offered them each 25 million dollars which is a fucking joke since he would make 100 times that on the fight.

UFC president Dana White said on Friday that he would pay $25m apiece to Floyd Mayweather Jr and and MMA star Conor McGregor for a presumed boxing match with the split of additional pay-per-view revenue between the fighters to be determined.

White’s offer, put forth on Colin Cowherd’s sports talk radio show on Fox Sports Radio, comes two days after Mayweather, the five-division champion who retired undefeated from boxing nearly a year and a half ago, said he would fight McGregor for a base purse of $100m with McGregor taking home a career-high $15m plus a minor cut of the pay-per-view receipts.

“I’ll tell you what Floyd, here’s a real offer,” White said. “I’m the only guy that can actually make the offer and I’m actually making a real offer: We’ll pay you $25 million, we’ll pay Conor $25 million and then we’ll talk about pay-per-view at a certain number. There’s a real offer.”

Mayweather, who is in New York to support Badou Jack’s bid to unify super middleweight titles against James DeGale on Saturday night, dismissed White’s offer out of hand.

“He’s a fucking comedian,” Mayweather said in a brief interview with TMZ.com.

Mayweather earned a guaranteed base purse of $32m for his most recent fight, a unanimous-win decision over Andre Berto in September 2015. That was down from a minimum of $100m for his previous fight against Manny Pacquiao, not including a portion of the pay-per-view revenue reported to be in the high eight-figure range.

McGregor’s highest disclosed purse in MMA is $3m. The Irishman last fought in November, when he knocked out Eddie Alvarez for the UFC lightweight title in UFC 205.

 

From what I have seen of cage fighting Mayweather would not even break sweat beating all the fighters I have seen!

If McGrgor could manage to stay outside of Mayweathers grip with a few well placed kicks early he might make round two lol. If Mayweather gets ahold of him, he would rip him to pieces ... but McGregor is a submission specialist so Mayweather would have to protect his throat.

The biggest misconception about boxing is that it is a sport based on aggression . It is based on skill and discipline more than that as aggression is centered around hostility which street fights are . Fighters generally have respect for their opponents although the hype associated with some bouts is for publicity and showmanship to increase viewership .

 

It looks like the Mayweather vs McGregor mismatch is going ahead and it is scheduled for 12 rounds!

I think a lot of people are going to be surprised. McGregor is a top fighter and to get there you have to be mentally and physically fit. Top athletes train day in and day out to WIN, McGregor will study Money's moves and retrain to box only. Does he have what it takes to beat Money? Who can say, but it won't be a rubbish fight.

 

Cha Ching, the purse is said to be massive in this "fight" and there would be a line up of people willing to take a shitkicking for that kind of payday lol.

In my opinion a good boxer will beat a fighter 9 times out of 10.........the most famous exception to this was when Foreman beat Ali but usually boxing skills always get the better of a scrapper no matter how much of a berserker he is!
