Cried a lot, got less healthy, went to Disney World, bought 2 electric scooters of which daughter damaged one and my heart won't allow me to push the other to the elevators, daughter got sicker, grateful to be here but want to be there too, spent time here & enjoyed it while writing this and many more posts and the fast beat still goes on.

 

I don't remember, must have been fun.

 

Graduated High School
Got myself into Junior College.
Received my AS degree.
Had 5 different jobs.
Got started on my BS at a University.

 

Joined here, almost bled to death, have had 4 major surgeries and am still dealing with the physical and emotional changes, changed occupations, have gone through financial upheaval, have gone from married to single and had to move in with my father-in-law, have to purge and pack 33 years of belongings and memories in addition to all the emotional crap over the years...there's probably more stuff, but I can't think of them right now...

And I've had one fantastic weekend in all that time!

 

Left a teaching job cause my son was in the hospital for four months - burnt out.
Started substitute teaching that fall.
Got a master's - can't get a job with it.
Started teaching motorcycle safety courses - love it!
Had a daughter
My oldest kid decided that she didn't want to see me anymore.
My other daughter from my ex-wife decided she didn't want to see her mom anymore.
Bought a house.
Lost a grandmother, two cousins, and watched several other family members come down with and start fighting cancer.
Ex-flame came back into my life. Left just as quick. Made me happy I dodged that bullet so long ago (she's a hot mess)

My ex-girlfriend's mom died and I missed the funeral

Way to go on the law part ... do you need a license to "become" a lesbian and can I become one, lol ???

 

Well, in the past year alone I've had 2 family deaths, a boss who was just awesome die, a few guys i knew from school die, and I witness that awkward sorrow of my brother and his wife finding out it was a miscarriage with their first child after about 2 months of being overly excited... Not the best year, but, however it may sound, I wasn't saddened by any of those things...

Anyway, my past five years saw me graduating highschool, starting and eventually dropping out of college, breaking up with my only girlfriend to date, losing a job at a dinosaur museum and that's about it. unfortunately, I've sat around most of my last 5 years which has lead me through various states of depression and jealousy among other things, as they've been shown on here.

Probably the only true highlights for me are that I got a job, I'm living pretty much in a house for free for at least several more months, and to top it all off, come June, I'm going to meet pi_princess in person, who've I've know online for the past 4 years. What comes of that meeting, I look forward to finding out. No matter how that meeting turns out, at least I can say I've thrown caution to the wind on something big to me and that's a rather large step for me.

 

I hope your meeting with the princess is all positive, Dan, and it leads to a major upswing in your life!

 

hmm, the last 5 years...

- college
- started my career
- got a nice place to rent
- got a car
- became an alcoholic
- became a workaholic
- got contacts

 

I must have done something, because now when I google my name, I get hits that are actually about me.

But the achievement I'm proudest of is raising my kids. There are times when I think I'm actually a good mom, that they're good kids, and that all of us will be able to survive their teen years.

 

and then there are those other times....

 

I have spent the last five years gradualy inching closer to the day that I snap and go on a five state violent crime spree and die in a fire caused by police tear gas after barricading myself in a small rural house making demands for an airplane with enough fuel to fly to Cuba and a suit case full of money.

I thought it would have happened when I was younger but some of us are late bloomers.

 

I recently (last week) lost my career so I have had to think about this actually.

I have two grown kids, had a successful 16+ year career, and have maintained a relationship for 20+ years. Two cars paid for, a house worth half what I owe, WLS that shaved off 150 pounds and most likely saved my life, and the sex drive of a teenager in my forties.

I am ready to retire, but they say I have to find something to do for the next 23 years instead. Time to pick a new something to excel at!
