They say we learn something new every day. In that spirit, what is the most recent thing you have learned that you found interesting? It can be anything.

However... NO Politics, NO Xenophobia, and NO Anti-Religion BS! Let's see if we can't have a non-political or disrespectful discussion for a change or at the very least maybe learn something we wouldn't otherwise know.

I learned partially melted Altoids will melt your fleshlight. What a mess...

Nah, I'm kidding. We're all out of Altoids right now.

 

I learn so many things I find interesting on any given day that I tend to forget what I learned when lol

But off the top of my head, I found it very interesting to learn that Frank Nitti was also from Brooklyn and grew up in a gang with Al Capone there. Then used those connections to hook up with what became The Outfit.

I have recently learnt the true meaning of the saying: “From the mouths of babes come truths “
Having been married to an unfaithful man for 25 years I thought I had done a good job at protecting them from it....
But it appears he was not as discrete or as respectful as I gave him credit for.
So.... when your 20 year old and 16 year old daughters sit you down over Christmas and say
“Mum... we really need to talk... it’s dad... why do you stay with him? Sit down... there’s about 10 years of stuff that you need to know”
Oh yes...... from the mouths of babes I receveid a lesson in humbleness, hurt and humility.... happy family holidays!!!
Every family has had one humdinger or another over the festive period and that was mine....

I learned that unlike what the Rolling Stones said in their song...sometimes you DO get what you want. If you believe you can do it. If you work hard and be persistent. And be patient. It has always worked for me.

 

I learned that using milk cream while ass fucking is more pleasurable than using any gel or oil, no side effects ...... Ass smell is also controlled

 

They said you can't ALWAYS get what you want, and that is true. There are plenty of hard working, persistent, patient people who don't get what they want. They don't get the job. They don't get loved back. Any number if things. Often times you just have to acknowledge there is a luck factor that might not go your way.

At that point, as Sheryl Crow sang, it's not about getting what you want, it's wanting what you've got.

i learned today that evidence suggest that the Giganotosuruse size is not as large as once thought. When these fossils where found in Argentina in 1993-1995 the estimate size was 53 feet long larger then both Spinosaurus and T.Rex. New study's suggest the Giga to be any where from 39 feet-43feet long placing it about the same size as the largest T.Rex found to date tyrannosaur Sue that 95% complete fossil is 41feet long. Spinosaurus is still the largest at 50feet long all 3 of these apex predators where alive in the Cretaceous period but at different times and different places on earth Argentina for the Giga 98 million years ago Africa for the Spino 112million years ago and finally USA T.Rex 64 million years ago

 

I just remembered what was probably the most recent thing I learned that interested me.

I watched a BBC documentary on Stalin called "Inside The Terror", and it completely opened my eyes about him. I had never really known as much about him as his contemporaries, so most of this was new information to me.

I was struck by how similar he was to a mafioso. He came from a Georgian countryside tradition of getting revenge on one's enemies very similar to that of the Sicilians. He joined Lenin's cause basically as an associate, robbing banks and other similar crimes to help fund the revolution. He was then promoted into the inner circle after "making his bones" by putting down potential insurrections and subduing the countryside. Lenin viewed him as a necessary evil but never trusted him with real power. That said, he did respect his dedication to the cause. Stalin even blew up on the people who had furnished his communal room at the Kremlin because he wanted to live in squalor with old, cheap furniture in order to be a true socialist. He was incredibly smart for his village but was intimidated by and eclipsed by the intelligence of Trotsky, and especially by his being a powerful orator. And he had a pretty damn horrible childhood until he was basically saved by a wealthy noble family and groomed for both priesthood and status. He threw it all away to join in the cause and become a major figure in the movement against the Tsarist government. He ended up spending a lot of time in Siberia and having to hide to avoid arrest by the police.

Really kind of gave you an idea of why Stalin was how he was and did what he did.
