First of all the Diesel engine doesn't get used to it. As regards the Diesel fuel, there is a winter variant and there's also a fuel preheater. Same goes for the sump oil. Now about melting a hole in the piston top, a lot of Diesel engines actually have a fixed aerostart injector.

Oh yes they do. We call them weak engines, nothing wrong with the engine what so ever just won't start without ether. The engine becomes dependent on ether.

I live in a cold climate and I've rebuilt 7 engines this year and flushed a few dozen fuel lines the winter variant doesn't do shit at -40F it gels up too.

I know some have a fixed injector not many do anymore it's special order most don't even have glow plugs anymore unless you order it.

Last thing I saw with a ether injector was a John Deere 4630. It's was 30 years old when I touched it. I've never seen glow plugs except when I learned to trouble shoot them in college.

Tell me how it becomes dependent? I could understand an engine low on compression, or one with laminated injectors, but for an engine to become dependent? As regards the cold environment, there are engine heaters, go onto ebay you can buy them and the injection kits.

Spent a restless night on the boat last night, something was going bump in the night, every couple of minutes, "brump". So I got dressed, went out on the dock and circled the boat slip with a flashlight for 30 minutes (at 2AM), no noise, but when I went back in, my wife said it was still doing it.

Now I have to climb into the bilge an hunt the cause of the noise. FUCKING fresh water pump was cycling for less than a second "brump". Turned it off and went back to bed, now I spend the next 3 hours looking at the FUCKING overhead, thinking why was it doing this. Finally figured out that the pump check valve was letting the pressure back bleed, causing the automatic switch to cycle.

 

It's the first week of the month and I would have to pay rent!

 

I haven't said it yet but I got it on the tip of my tongue ready to go. Don't provoke me.:excited:

I rarely have to start that tractor in cold weather, what bothers me more is that the engine is very hard to start when it's warmed up. Some say it's because of fuel pump, others say it's low compression and I still haven't figured out what it is.

Me. Seriously, I always keep track of time. One of my worst nightmares is seeing two or more clocks/watches with different time and not knowing which one is accurate (if any).

I can feel myself stumbling back into the pit of despair. There's a feeling of inevitability that something terrible is going to happen. I can feel it. I can feels this spectre hanging over me. Taunting me.

Why do I find myself suddenly anxious to leave the house? I don't want to go outside to check the mail. I barely go outside with my dog now. Even going into the back yard is troublesome for me.

I'm supposed to go to LA to visit family and then Arizona to visit my grandmother on the 17th. I haven't seen her in like ten years. But the thought of driving there and staying for a week seems nightmarish right now.

I feel no familial connection to the people in LA. Fuck. I fucking hate visiting with people I have no familiar or cultural connection to.

Why can't I just be left the fuck alone!



I'm getting worse. There's something wrong with me. I've stopped bathing. I can't smell myself yet but I know it's bothering the other people in the house. The dog needs his booster shots soon so I can renew his license with the city. That means showering and leaving the house to go to the vets, then going to the civic center. Fuck.
