Was it someone you looked up to? Was it things you may have read about, and learned through education? Did it have to do with family or being influenced by a friend? We’re not all a like, we live life as we choose. But something along the way had a part in making us who we are today. I’ll go first.

My father had a lot to do with making me the person I am today. He didn’t teach me about compassion, he showed me what compassion was by seeing him help others. He taught me how to respect others by a few backhanders when I was out of line. He taught me that there’s no such thing as good thing. He taught me how to stand up for myself when I believe that I’m right. Taught me how to defend myself and to never back down from a bully, even if I knew I’d get the shit kicked out of me. I can’t really say that he made me the person I am today, but he built the foundation. I love him

My Grandma. She was a tough woman who was widowed before I was even born, and she took care of all of the household repairs herself, never asking for help. She was a young woman during the great depression, so she knew how to be frugal and to fix things instead of replacing them. I can't remember ever seeing her waste anything, and she worked hard for everything she had. She taught me to be responsible and to stand on my own two feet. She was a strict disciplinarian, and I grew up understanding that there were consequences for bad behavior. And most of all, she taught me about unconditional love.

 

I had many mentors, but 3 come to mind. I tried to contact each of them just to say THANKS, but they had all passed away.

The death of my parents when I was in my mid teens and early twenties had a profound impact on who I am today. I’m not looking for sympathy of any kind it’s what shaped my future and the person I am today.

Honestly, works of fiction. Specifically comic books, I guess. I've always admired and looked up to the likes of Spider-Man and Superman. Doing the right thing because that's the way things should be, and being there for the people who need you most. It's admirable that there are people who've thought of what a hero or heroes capable of absolute good in a world where that seems nearly impossible, when that really shouldn't be the case

I have so many different qualities and traits from various people in my life. I have people i love and look up to that inspire me. I have some that has shown me personality traits i don't want to have. All that being said. I really don't think that anyone made me the person i am today. I'm just me. Sometimes i don't even know who i am. I do know that my flaws or faults are part of my make up and the people that had a hand in raising me are not to blame for them.
