The only time taxes and the national debt declined was during the administrations of Warren Harding and Calvin Coolidge. That was possible back then because they cut military spending.

Why is it a good idea to cut taxes while raising defense spending? That is what Reagan, Bush II and Trump did.

 

Trump has said, and backed it up with action, that social security and medicare are off the table; they will not be cut.

Despicables continue to shout that trump is going to cut social security. It is nothing more than a scare tactic.

And the debt doubled in 8 years under the obama administration.

Is it acceptable to defend a president who had 8 years to do something to reduce deficits and did not, but demonize a president who has had less than two years to do something about the mess? Yes or no.

Yes. Nevertheless, Obama's mistake was in not in imposing a heavy tax burden on the rich. For two years he had Democrat majorities in both houses of Congress. For years public opinion surveys have indicated majority support for a more progressive tax system. Currently, economic inequality is as severe as it was going into 1929. We know how that turned out.

Obama was climbing out of the Great Recession, which began under the administration of George the Lesser. President for Life Trump is riding on the economic recovery Obama orchestrated.

Since Reagan Republicans have thought it was acceptable to cut taxes while raising military spending.

Distant lover supports a larger, more invasive, more expensive, inefficient government.

The thing is, distant lover wants to fund his government with someone else's money.

I do not want an inefficient government. I want an expensive government, paid for by high taxes on the rich, that efficiently keeps the business community under control.

Rich people who don't like it can move to a low tax country like Honduras. They should be required to keep wealth in this country. I will let them take with them a suitcase with two changes of clothing and toilet articles. I will help them pack.

Since the Reagan administration, the rich have looted the country while paying lower taxes. I want a powerful government to force them to give back what they have taken from the rest of us.
