I've worked my whole life, and the two times I was unemployed, my job was to find a job. Unemployment insurance is something we pay into, so anyone that begrudges another taking unemployment benefits is only fooling themselves.

 

Heck no, you paid for the insurance, by all means, use it. I was referring to welfare/food stamps recipients. And yes, some use it as needed, and move away.

And some of us acknowledge our own privilege every second of every day even though we probably have less of it than you. Because we didn't grow up isolated from places that reminded us of it.

When you're the one that earned it, worked hard for it, did it on your own, it's not a privilege regardless of the color of your skin.

When white privilege actually refers to the institutional advantages whites and especially white males enjoy over all other minorities from centuries of being the dominate class.
Remember when the constitution was written the only people who had rights were property owning white males. And it has been a constant battle for equality ever since. And we are not there yet.
