I can't say for men, but I know I have cheated on a past girlfriend before. And it was not becouse I didn't or lost the love for her at the time. I did it becouse sometimes you just want to have sex. It's not always about love. Sex CAN creat a specal bond between two ppl that are already in love. But not always. I know I cheated cause she was smokin hot and I just wanted her.
I mean havn't any of you had a one night stand before and never saw that person again upto this point in your life and never have any realy emoutional connections to them other then they just made you fuckin' horny?

Why do guys cheat?

Because they are weak, they are so weak that they don't know the difference between weakness and strength.

I am not talking as an innocent here, I have done more than my fair share of this shit.The main reason that I have never married is that I know that I am not capable of monogamy and would never be so cruel as to promise myself to one girl, I class this as one of my few redeeming features.

I see what the OP is getting at. Asking whether a guy cheats does not put the guy at fault. It is asking the motivation as to why said guy would cheat. It is not blaming a guy for cheating, but making an inquiry openendedly


I think a woman can cause a guy to cheat, especially if the woman has a close relationship with the guy already. And during a disagreement with the girlfriend / wife / SO this woman offers a place to stay, or a warm meal, or comfort to this guy. He thinks that he should make something of it because of being shown kindness and love in his moment of weakness.

 

Sorry was reading the thread and really it should be called not why do guys cheat but Why do I cheat.

Its easier when you can put yourself in a situation you can get a more honest answer from yourself.

Now why would I cheat (I haven’t but I do know why I would and with whom):

1. Out of Love. There is this one girl who I loved for a long time but could never hook up with her (she has her tastes and we are really good friends), and truthfully I would have love to spend the rest of my life with her and never had to roam, but life moved me on out of high school. We are still friends to this day but I would drop everything if she asked.

2.Desirability lets face it when they are beautiful, it become so hard to say no. Toss in a couple of drinks then your will to try and fight goes and you enjoy that moment.

3.Social. Lets face it when you start hearing those numbers; you feel your missing out. When they start telling you how to get your own numbers, you have to try it out. Once you have those numbers and cannot connect to #1, then you try and find a way to get out.

4.Opportunity. One scary thing that I remember from high school was when a teacher, as part of sex ed, asked the question on a secret ballet “If you could rape someone and get away with it would you?” and 60% of the people said yes, that means some people will just do it because they can.

5. Thrill. The thrill of the chase, the hunt, the capture, the conquest and then the nap.

You see someone you desire (and attractive partner etc).
Society starts pressuring you (an external force this is the norm/acceptable behaviour)
