I'm not anti-guns, I just think of things from all angles. Usually when you do that instead of sticking to one side, you can think of a middle-ground more people may be happy with. I think the way we have it now, with the background checks and permits, is pretty reasonable. Yes, people are still going to get ahold of them anyway, but still having it illegal to own them without a permit means you can put the bad people in jail on a smaller charge if you have no proof of the bigger one. Fact- states with right to carry laws have significantly lower crime rates than those who do not. Michigans violent crime rate was through the roof before we got CCW laws passed. Criminals are less inclined to try to rob, rape or kill someone who might be armed.

Ya I agree with you. I'm not against background checks or the waiting period, but I don't agree 100% with having to register your guns. That could be very very bad providing certain things happen. I know it was a movie, but I remember in Red Dawn after the Soviets invaded they got ahold of the list of registered guns and those people went to internment camps. I thought the gun ban in DC was stupid as hell, that if you owned a gun it had to be kept disassembled.
