  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

The conservative/Republican/Tea Baggers are fighting back with an ad claiming union workers make 42% more than non-union, and its all about power and money, and its all President Obama's fault.

I think its a big mistake for two reasons. One, I'm pretty sure its not going to stand up to fact checking and debunking that will actually give the Democrats free air time. I also think its a mistake to try to demonize working people and more or less declare war when you're being accused of a war on the middle class to begin with.

I'll see if I can find the ad and of course all the fact checking that will be necessary to prove more conservative/Republican/Tea Bagger lies.

PS Liberal/progressive groups have now raised more than half a million dollars for the recall of the eight Wisconsin Republicans. That's a pretty good indication of how pissed off people are about this. The donations are pouring into Wisconsin from all over the country.

You're pretty smug in the knowledge that the Koch Brothers can write a check for a thousand times that amount, aren't you.

    That didn't take long

The anti union, anti democratic ad that is actually being paid for by Crossroads GPS with an estimated $750,000 behind it has barely run and already one of the institutes and people quoted as a source in the advertisement are pointing out the ad misrepresents their findings and misquotes their data.

The Cato Institute author wasted no time in trashing the flagrant misuse of his findings. But do you think Rove, the Koch Brothers et al care? Truth has never had any meaning for them.

And maybe they can but I'm not sure money is going to do the trick in Wisconsin.

Here's the legal arguments so far:

And there's a lot more riding on this than I thought there was. Its almost winner take all in Wisconsin because there is also and election for a Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice with the court currently consisting of 4 republicans and 3 democrats with a republican up for election.

No you're absolutely right about that and I bet there's millions more dollars behind the union busting crusade than anyone knows.

But I've noticed a lot of fact checking on the Union debates and I think the lies in this one will be big enough to report on.

Also, I'm betting those snippets of people taken out of context will be challenged. Things like that have been working in our favor and I think will here as well.

Finally, I think the overall message of the ad is the equivalent of looking for a fight and I think they've found one. As an example it was not the teachers who stomped out of Wisconsin schools in protest. A report I just heard was that several high schools were closed because the students walked out in protest of what the Wisconsin Republicans did.

Of course I need to fact check that on myself.;)

    Getting pretty rough in Wisconsin

Thousands of protesters are currently surrounding the Wisconsin state house and police are physically removing protesters from inside the building. If the arrests are happening now I don't think the Billy Clubs will be far behind.

And I have to wonder how many people out there today were also there in the 1960's when students at the University of Wisconsin invented the "student strike" that shut down the campus?

That would be some true believers I bet.

I am not afraid of the Tea Party and didn't consider them animals at all. I considered them the most extreme right, racist, and brainwashed sore losers in the Republican Party.

I also believe they are dupes who responded to a Fox News/Glenn Beck invention backed by the Koch Brothers and other wealthiest Americans to work against their own interests.

And yes if there are any damages to the State House the protesters just like all other tax payers will end up paying for it.

How much damage has been done and where is your source for this information? Or are you just parroting brainwashed right wing noise machine false propaganda.

You know like the Crossroads GPS ad running that is full of lies and misrepresentations.

I can't help but laugh at people who will put up with being lied to like that just because they're pissed off at the world and it feels good to hate.

They just have to be turned to face whoever the enemy du jour is, and given a shove. They'll take it from there. But the list is getting long:

Or as likely, the ones you never hear about, the "Orangeburg Massacre."

    Documenting the Orangeburg Massacre

Campus killings of black students received little news coverage in 1968, but a book about them keeps their memory alive.

    http://www.nieman.harvard.edu/reports/article/100992/Documenting-the-Orangeburg-Massacre.aspx

I was alive and thought I remembered everything about 1968 but this was news to me the other night when I saw it on the history channel.

Also, I think they might have picked the wrong place to kick off the Koch Brothers bust the union campaign. Wisconsin was a hot bed of protests and student strikes.

And these protests are starting to remind me of the ones we had in the 1960's.

Me either. I was sitting there watching 1968 With Tom Brokaw on the History Channel and he started talking about it and I was like WTF? How come I never heard about this because if I had I think I would have remembered?

And all over black college kids wanting to be able to use the only bowling alley in town.

By the way if you want a good laugh you should see how Rasmussen is trying to spin what they call Gov Walker's slide from a 52% approval rating down to a 43% approval rating.

But what's laughable is that when it comes to president Obama Rasmussen only counts the strongly approve or strongly disapprove numbers. If they did that with Gov. Walker there's actually a 14 point gap with only 34% strongly approving of Walker and 48% strongly disapproving of him.

And those numbers are from before the latest illegal and dishonest moves.

Interesting poll results. Particularly notable is Walkers lack of support among non-union members and independents. This is a classic case of a zealot pursuing a radical agenda that lacks public support. Rasmussen says his support has "slipped"...I'd say, considering he's only been in office a couple of months, it has plummeted to earth like the proverbial paralyzed falcon.
