Well, it's been said (and I find it true) that women marry men hoping they'll change (personality wise-grow up) and men marry women hoping they never change (physically).

Men are just much more into physical appearance than women (in my experience). I've never dated someone I didn't get to know first. Because I really DON'T care what they look like. I'm just the kind of person who is attracted to personality. I'd rather be able to sit with someone and have an intriguing conversation (or argument) than go out with someone who's totally vapid but cute or amazing in bed.

I guess it comes down to women searching for (usually) a long term situation. Whereas most men are about the "now".

 

Well honestly I really could give a fuck what popular notion about who's hot and who's not is. And I'm not saying this to argue with you or offend you in any way so don't take it that way. My point is, I don't care what people think is hot because a girl I think is a 10, my friends my think is not hot at all and vise versa. When I do the rating on a scale of 1-10 thing, I look for things that I like and a girl with all or most of those attributes is what I consider a 9 or a 10. I don't date girls just because of attractiveness though. I just made this thread to see what other people thought and how it differed or was similar to my choice and reasons for picking it. This was really soley a question about what's more important, attractiveness or sex.

Oh and you're probably right, guys and girls most likely do differ a lot because most guys while they don't think looks are everything, they think they're a lot.

 

I think that's the issue. It was just a question of attractiveness or sex. What about personality? Women (in general) are more interested in personality than either of the other two (Bush wives aside.....who the hell knows WHAT they were thinking-probably the money). Although it'd take all the money in the world to get ME to date a Bush.....what was I talking about?

A lot of guys do think like this, whether they want to admit it. We just can't disregard looks, no matter how hard we try or no matter what we say. Almost every guy has some sort of physical standards that he feels girls he wants to date or get with should be at, whether he admits it or not.

Over there on my left is a woman who looks like she just stepped off the cover of Maxim, but talking to her is awkward.

Over on my right is a woman who probably didn't have a date for her prom, but she's funny and interesting and an attraction is undeniable.

I'm right handed ... luckily that's the side she's on.

Im with Pookey personality and openess. Ive had some great fun with the larger ladies who are very open and have great personalities and who are happy with themselves. At end of day perfect body can go wrong very quickly and if thats all you have keeping you together then a couple of cream cakes later your relationship has gone. Hope this makes sense

okay, i'll put my two cents in.. i have screwed around with a few girls before, most of you know this. i wouldn't even consider myself bi, but if i'm going to screw around with a girl, i go for looks. im attracted to nice tits, long hair, nice face and body. and of course if im in that situation with a girl, shes obviously already made it clear that she'll fuck around with me.

but i'll change it from girls to guys now (sorry baller, for changing your thread). i'm gonna admit it- i go for guys based on looks. sex isn't important to me when im trying to get to know someone. i will be attracted to you based on looks, thats what turned my head. when i get to know a guy, i'll see past his looks and see only his personality. now, if good sex hasn't come by then, then i'm out. unless we've got a really good connection, then we can always work on the sex. also, hot guys don't always have the best personality, so sometimes it doesn't even get that far. if i go for guys based on personality first, and they're not hot, it's hard for me to think "sex" when i think of them. i know im gonna get a lot of shit for that, but that's just how my mind works, women don't get turned on as easily as men do.

And my point is, looks are entirely subjective. I never know what's going to attract me to a man, physically...it might be his hair, his eyes, his shoulders, his hands. And the same goes for women. Sometimes it's almost as if it's an aura, something entirely subliminal. Call it chemistry.

But in any case, I object in principal to the idea of giving someone a number to describe their looks. I have a more complex rating system.

Okay, here's a good example. I shared an apartment with a girl for awhile in college. Blonde, big boobs, but definitely on the chubby side, and not what I would call a pretty face. But I'm telling you, this girl had a wonderful, outgoing personality, and she simply oozed sex appeal. Guys just lined up to have sex with her. There was a constant parade in and out of her room. She used to tell me that she was built for comfort, not speed, and that guys felt secure in her arms, like coming home to mom.

I always thought it was because her wardrobe consisted almost entirely of bikinis. She was the only girl I ever knew who vacuumed in a bikini, cooked dinner in a bikini, answered the door in a bikini.....she said it paid to advertise.
