The one thing Trump and his supporters cannot do is face reality as proven by this thread. They employ the cruelest measures possible to try and deter migrants seeking asylum but that is just an exercise in sadism because it does nothing to address the route causes and desperate people will take desperate steps to try to save themselves and especially their children. And I can't really blame them. If I was in their shoes I would be walkng north too.

Despite stricter U.S. immigration rules, more asylum-seekers flow across border

Now this is a real hoot.

The number of asylum seeker entering th e US has increased, even though the number being processed at border crossings has gone down?

And we don’t need a fence? How fucking stupid are you loonies?

Deplorables are cruel for wanting to defend the sovereignty of the Us and expecting new immigrants to follow the law as they start their journey to citizenship.

    Thank God for deplorables.

And fuck the organizers of the caravans for attacking our sovereignty and using desperate people as pawns.

Yeah well when the Trump supporters have no objections about Russians stealing our election and a criminal president don't make me laugh so hard using the word "sovereignty." Because just like Flynn you have sold out your country. The only problem you have with this is these are poor brown people.
You guys just want to keep denying the realities of this thread because you can't face them.

The whole "caravan" hysteria was nothing more than a great big political stunt by Trump and his supporters. And as soon as the election is over you just move on to the next straw dog panic.

You know how to stop Russians from exploiting racial tensions as part of a disinformation campaign intended to influence American elections? Deal with the issues that foster and exacerbate racial tensions so they can’t be exploited and used as part of a disinformation campaign intended to influence American elections.

    2. shootersa
Or better yet, how about calling out the Russians and holding them accountable?

Oh, I agree. There ought to be sanctions, and serious consequences, and the leader should be seen as condemning the actions, and .... oh.

      Right.

The issue of the caravan was illegal immigration, period.

The issue of illegal immigration has not suddenly disappeared with the failure of the caravan. It has disappeared from the border security perspective, the caravan stopped in Mexico and they are forced to deal with it.

The despicables seem to want to tie the Russians into the caravan using worn out racial accusations.

    Why? Because Trump.

The point is the glaring hypocrisy of Trump supporters claiming migrants threaten our "sovereignty" when we are under attack by Putin/Russia and they could not give a shit about that. Why? Well because Russian helped elect Trump and support Republicans. So they have no objection to that VERY REAL attack on our sovereignty. But go into hysterics over a few thousand poor unarmed migrants seeking asylum. And yes racism is the root of that hysteria.

And now let's look at this. Trump says we need a useless wall. He says we are being invaded, The Trump administration implements the cruelest and most sadistic policies in modern US history but have no plan what to do with the migrants, especially children, and are so fucking incompetent the separated children and parents with no way to identify and track them and deported parents leaving the children stuck here. And for what? It sure as fuck isn't deterring the migrants because no matter what happens to them here it is better and safer than where they live.

So instead of going through all that horrendous human suffering why didn't Trump and his administration do this first?

US pledges $10.6B aid for Central America, southern Mexico

*Everybody should have already known that Trump and his Administration was going to have to buy Mexico off for their cooperation with the Caravans.

**And don't those numbers seem familiar? They should. Trump is threatening to shut down the government over $5 billion for his wall and $25 billion is the estimated total cost. So we are being asked to pay twice for the same goal. Bunch of hypocrites,.

Illegal immigration does threaten our sovereignty.

Particularly when they are assimilated into the population and given the rights of citizens. This is pretty basic, so I guess that’s why you can’t see it as such.

Again take note of the fear mongering and frankly stupid irrational arguments of the phony "conservatives."

If we let these asylum seekers in they will threaten our "sovereignty." And how will they do that? Well IF we let them in and they become citizens some time in the next 10 fucking years they will probably vote Democratic.

Well gee why don't we reform our immigration laws to provide work permits and temporary status that would protect them but not allow them to become US citizens?

But now let's look at the REALITY. Out very democracy. Our fucking elections. Have been under attack by Putin/Russia for years and those attacks have become so successful they actually helped Trump become president. And those attacks are continuing and increasing today and I do mean this day. That is the BIGGEST THREAT TO OUR SOVEREIGNTY since World War II. The very foundations of our democracy are under attack.

But the phony "conservatives" ignore that because Putin/Russia are helping Republicans so they are more than willing to sell OUR SOVEREIGNTY out to Russia.

And now let's throw in another just glaring hypocrisy. The phony "conservatives" scream about these migrants having "anchor babies" meaning if they have a child here by our own Constitution those children are citizens.

But not a fucking peep out of them about the Russians flocking to the US to give birth and claim US citizenship for their child. With the added irony the most popular destinations for these "anchor babies" are Trump properties.

And again why? Racism pure and simple is the first reason. But the other reason is that the only real value the phony "conservatives" have is winning at all costs. And they will say or do anything, including selling the US out to Russia, for the sake of their own will to power. That is really all they care about.

    Really.
You have proof the Russians stole our election?
You have proof Trump is a criminal?

    The caravan was hysteria?
7,000 migrants are massed at our border, demanding entry.
They did not get there by coincidence.
They were organized and are being used as pawns.
That you continue to deny such an obvious fact underscores that you care fuck all about anything except attacking all things Trump.

The general needs to get professional help in Shooters opinion.

Yes, absolutely, ILLEGAL immigration is a direct threat to our sovereignty. That you do not understand that simple concept is probably why you cannot fathom how important an issue it is.

That Asylum seekers are here and may eventually vote despicable is irrelevant. The fact that 7,000 of them are at our border, demanding entry, because they were organized and are pawns in a bigger game is relevant.

Yes, we do need to reform our immigration system. Shooter has laid out his plan several times before. President Trump tried to pass reform last year, and it was rejected by Congress.
We haven't seen meaningful changes in our immigration system for over 20 years, and given the divides in this country we probably won't see any in our life times. After all, 9/11 exposed many of the problems with immigration, and even now, not one meaningful bill has passed. And the only meaningful executive order was Obama's order years ago delaying the deportation of some ILLEGAL immigrants.

The issue of Russian interference in our elections, and how big an impact it had, is still being investigated and debated. Your diversion tactic fails. 7,000 migrants at our gates demanding entry is real and an immediate danger. Try to focus.

Anchor babies is another diversion tactic that won't work. Shooter, and most deplorables, have no issue with so called "anchor babies". The constitution is clear on that issue and it need not be revisited.

And Fuck you for playing the race card. A sleazy tactic at best.

Honduran migrant gunned down shortly after U.S. deportation
TEGUCIGALPA (Reuters) - A Honduran migrant who had recently been deported from the United States was shot and killed a few blocks from his home, his family said on Wednesday, in another sign of the dangers faced by migrants fleeing Central American gangs.

Nelson Espinal, 28, was shot 15 times on Tuesday night shortly after leaving his home in the capital Tegucigalpa, said his sister, Patricia Espinal. The neighborhood is dominated by the Barrio 18 gang, one of the country's most dangerous.

Espinal was deported from the United States in late November and barred from returning for five years, according to documents from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Nevertheless, Espinal, who worked in construction, planned to make another attempt to enter the country in January, his sister said.

"He said that if he did not leave, they were going to kill him," Patricia Espinal said as her mother, Sara Matamoros, wept. "That's why he left following the caravan."

Espinal was detained after crossing the border illegally in Arizona, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection. He did not appear to be part of the migrant caravans trekking from Central America to the United States and did not seek asylum, the agency said.

On Wednesday, a U.S. federal judge struck down Trump administration policies aimed at restricting asylum claims by people citing gang or domestic violence in their home countries.

In Mexico, authorities are investigating the deaths of two migrant teenagers from Honduras who were killed in the border city of Tijuana last weekend.

The youths, believed to be about 16 or 17 years old, showed signs of having been stabbed and strangled. It could not be determined immediately if the victims had planned to apply for asylum.

Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador told reporters on Wednesday his government would seek "fair treatment" for migrants.

More than 2,000 mainly Honduran immigrants who traveled with the caravan remain in a shelter in Tijuana, Lopez Obrador said. U.S. President Donald Trump has insisted that they will not be allowed into the United States, but a few asylum seekers have already crossed the border.

The killings could fuel criticism of a policy proposal that Mexico and the United States discussed earlier this year to have Central American migrants wait in Mexico while their asylum claims are processed.

It’s a rough place, one of the highest murder rates in the world. Been there many times and learned that it’s not the US.

Why don’t we work harder at reforming their government?

Because it isn't our responsibility, and if we did anything down there whatever happened would be our fault.

We have our own issues to deal with.

And one has to wonder why these people didn't ask for asylum in Mexico when they had the chance?

And since they didn't, why is it now our fault?

As if dealing with multiple problems keeps us from dealing with this one? Why the false dichotomies when it come to this issue, I wonder?

I realize that left-wing media spin is pouncing on an opportunity to embarrass the hardcore anti-immigrant crowd, but that doesn't mean a few questions shouldn't be asked about our policy, it's implementation and efficacy. You're not afraid to do that, are you?

Sorry, but I don’t agree here. It is our responsibility to correct the wrongs that we committed in exploiting the nations that share our continent. The despots and corporate puppets that we put in place by our meddling created an atmosphere of corruption.

We don’t need to meddle, we need to actually help people by educating them in ways that foster independence. The people of Central America are good hardworking souls, who only need some assistance in becoming more self reliant.

    See?
Our fault so now we have to fix it.

And old tool, neither shooter, trump or deplorables are against immigration.

We are adamant about stopping ILLEGAL imigration. There is a difference you know.

Shooter doesn't think we should try to fix the problems in central America because a) we'd probably make things worse and b) once we start we own it. No matter what happens it's our fault, and c) we have plenty of our own issues to deal with.

And asking questions about current policy? Of course we need to do that. Shooter has previously outlined his plan to reform immigration. President trump submitted a bill to Congress last year to reform immigration. It was rejected.

Obama..Obama...Obama, Obama aint no president now...

Is that not what we are told when Obama is used for a legitimate comparison?

The adamant Obama supporters used Bush as a ''legitimate'' comparison.

Is that not the reason why all of Obama era policies didn't work...because of Bush?

And all of Trumps successful policies are due to being able to ride on the coat-tails of Obama doings?

The leftists are a complicated bunch, but what no one realizes is that the left only complicate matters for themselves.
